You Matter: An Open Letter to Each and Everyone of You

Hey there, whoever is reading this! I hope you’re doing well today. Just wanted to pop in and remind you that you matter. Yes, YOU. The person who took the time out of their day to read this article. Whether you realize it or not, your existence affects those around you – even if it’s just in small ways.

Now I know what some of you may be thinking – “Wow, thanks for the generic feel-good message.” But hear me out because there’s a reason why so many people say these kinds of things. It’s because they’re true!

Stop Comparing Yourself To Others And Embrace Your Differences

We live in an age where comparison is often one click away, whether on social media or just hearing about other people through the grapevine. But here’s something important to remember: everyone is different! Sounds like a cliche but let me explain…

You might think someone else has it better than you do because they have more money, more friends or travel often but what makes them happy doesn’t necessarily make YOU happy too.

Rather than idolizing others’ lives focus on yourself What makes you unique? What are your strengths? Learn to love and appreciate all the things that make up who YOU are and stop placing so much value on comparing yourself with strangers online whom couldn’t care less about our opinions tbh.

Celebrate Your Accomplishments No Matter How Small They Are

It can be easy at times to get wrapped up in achieving big milestones like passing major exams or getting promoted yet we forget life isn’t solely made entire by only composed Big Moments but also by countless smaller moments adding up over time which actually shape our livelihoods alot more;

Maybe giving a presentation/speech went well . Maybe completing an assignment before deadline felt good regardless how crappy marks were earned back later , or maybe you did all your laundry for the week ahead, even when you were feeling lazy earlier?!

These are also accomplishments worth celebrating- no matter how small they seem. Celebrate yourself!

Taking Time For Yourself Is Not A Crime

I have a friend who always seems to be overworking themselves and cramming their schedule filled yet such approach breeds resentment towards ones own existence. The point is self-care can never be considered as waste of time because it fuels us with energy and positivity we need to live every single day.

It’s vital to take care of ourselves mentally, emotionally, and physically. If that means scheduling in some alone time once in awhile or prioritizing our hobbies then so be it.

So what are you doing today to treat yourself?

It’s Okay To Say No

Whether out of a sense of social obligation, fear-of-missing-out(FOMO) or simply discomfort at the thought of confrontation; often times we occasionally find ourselves embracing everyone else’s needs more than those of ours which leads too unnecessary mental exhaustion . If someone asks if they can invite themselves over on short notice for Instance it’s completely okay to decline politely explaining clearly how busied up one already is(I mean could do so without hurting anyone).

Don’t feel guilty about setting boundaries – your peace matters too!

A Few Quick Reminders

We’re almost at the end here but I thought I’d close off by throwing out some general reminders:

  • You’re allowed to make mistakes! Nobody’s perfect.
  • Surrounding yourself with people who lift you up instead xof tearing them down actually helps raise confidence levels
  • There will always people agree/disagree with what one does! Some opinions should never hold one back from continuing something they love..
  • Life has ups and downs… now this might come across as generic itself but try giving every difficult situation an unique perspective. While not always easy to do, it’s definitely worth making the effort to change our outlook when things seem tough

And There You Have It!

You matter. Even if you don’t feel like it sometimes, your presence makes a difference in this world. Everyone goes through difficult times but even then, one should never forget their value.

So take care of yourself and spread that love around!
