Women smoking cigarettes this week?

Welcome to the world of women who smoke! A topic that never fails to trigger mixed reactions among people, with some advising against it while others see no issue with it. However, for us, we believe in providing unbiased information about everything under the sun, which includes women smokers.

So here’s what you missed on Glee: Last week we witnessed an alter-ego of sorts emerging during a heated argument about cigarette smoking among my girlfriends. One side was supporting lighting up occasionally, and other definitely did not want any inhalation activity going on anytime soon.

Smoking Cigarettes as a form of rebellion

Adolescents tend to use nicotine for reasons ranging from seeking individuality to countercultural affiliations. So if you’re expecting young girls dressed in their high school uniforms posing like they’re ‘bad’, then let me tell ya – times have changed!

There are numerous reasons why adult females choose to smoke; however most commonly noted is stress relief (also known as ‘I need a break’). Ladies universally express feeling that nothing gives them quite the same relaxing effect as kicking back with a cigerette or three after long hectic days.

Women face more addiction accusations

Just when our gender thought we had enough discrimination thrown at us over issues such as pay gaps, reproductive rights and glass ceilings – studies suggest female nicotine users have greater psychological dependence than males.

You guessed right; society loves judging non-conforming individuals and this habit falls into one those categories(Oh yay another thing for people criticize) . Nonetheless there is something intriguing about rare stereotypes where along with being depicted but attractive could turn out scandalous (assuming one smokes only behind closed doors).

How does smoking impact health?

According  to expert opinions: Nicotine delivers oxygenated blood around your body much quickly thereby triggering dopamine release which makes you feel good hence creating pleasure centre triggers. However nicotine is NOT GOOD, we all know that. Smoking decreases nutrient supply and leads to compromised immunity.

Okay maybe it’s time for a break! A non-smoking break!

Anti-Smoking Campaigns

Are alternative awareness activities really helping tobacco users quit?

We’re in 2021 where messages trying to encourage people to stop smoking are literally everywhere – from packets, advertisements , social media posts(Guilty)to the extent of even showing gory visuals or images of cancer ridden lungs.

Let’s just say every smoker knows about these campaigns; it’s not like smokers ignore their messaging regularly chuckling when they come across poorly designed posters featuring ignored calls-to-action.

Why Women Smoke?

Curiousity drives research which led us finding different female triggers. The following may explain why women smoke:

  • Becoming independent – After achieving their independence from partners, children leaving homes or finishing education females need something new.
  • Stress Relief
  • Trying out what men do since smoking was once a regarded as a nearly exclusive male-oriented activity (this seems incredibly divisive if you ask me though)
  • Socializing with colleagues at work without seeming sober
  • Curiosity

So ladies feel confident now? You’re not alone (No pun intended)! But side-effect-free therapies and swift solutions await those contemplating quitting this habit.(Waits patiently)

## How does smoking affect fertility?

Remainding everyone again that Cigarettes are injurious to health! Smoking can harm nearly every organ in body leading reproductive issues down the lane such as:

• Lower pregnancy rates
• Irregular menstrual cycles
• Early Menpause withdrawals
• Increased chances for cervical cancer and infections

Nevertheless some pro-tobacco enthusiasts would argue how females should be given freedom over our bodies but hey ‘freedom’ doesn’t always mean risking lives being damaged by inhaling chemicals into your system right?

Conclusion

In the end, we all can agree that smoking is not solely a one-gendered activity! While condemning judgment (We don’t have space for another judgement call on gender) of female smokers may be misguided(As it takes away their autonomy), we cannot ignore the harmful effects of smoking as well.

Thus starts our journey from normalizing criticism and opinions while maintaining unbiased attitudes towards different ideologies such as addiction or nicotine usage among women(or any person out there for that matter).
