Why should you spit out phlegm?

If you’re a human being, chances are that you’ve experienced the unpleasant sensation of phlegm. It’s gooey, slimy and makes a convincing argument against evolution. But did you know that spitting out your phlegm isn’t just good manners (and common sense)? It’s actually important for your health!

Here are some of the reasons why:

Prevent Infections

Phlegm is basically bacteria trapped in mucus-y gunk which can lay down stakes in your throat/lungs/any other place where it hangs around for too long. By getting rid of it with gusto (or just politely hocking) –  you’re not giving these pathogens an opportunity to hijack any parts of your body.

Better Breathing

We all enjoy breathing, but when excessive amounts of gob phnarr is blocking our airways we tend to get slightlynervous /panicked😩 The less stuff that’s clogging up our lungs/diaphragms/nose-holes 🤢(sorry I had to), the easier it is to breathe properly and allow oxygenated blood cells access to every nook and cranny they need!

Improved Digestion

Surprised? Don’t be! If you swallow gobs 💦of mouth-goo repeatedly mostly by habit or otherwise food particles studded through-out could cling on their way down leading them straight into regions they don’t belong at best causing blockages🚫 ,at worst setting off undesirables reactions like choking 😱or gagging😝 . Keep things moving smoothly by saying goodbye to those nasty little balls before they become an unsolvable puzzle☹️

Smell Better? Yes!

It might sound odd but swallowed bogies lead 🙄to bad breath occasionally especially if there’s undigested pearls resting nearby. As you speak, sneeze, exhale – there’s always the chance that someone close-by might get a little more familiar with your nostrils than they’d like…. So be civil! Spit out your phlegm if you have to – for the sake of all those around you!

LESSER KNOWN REASONS TO SPIT OUT PHLEGM

While we’ve covered the primary reasons for spitting out phlegm, it’s worth noting some other lesser-known benefits of adopting this practice:

Less Rapid Tooth Decay

Whoops! Gobs full off acidic mucus can lead to teeth decay or wear away / weaken our enamel😬at an alarming rate. This attack on tooth-ivory (Which is what scientists call healthy teeth) often goes unnoticed and undiagnosed causing damage. It’s time now to spit as much as humanly possible in order 😱to save your pearly whites.

Boost Immunity

Phlegm tends to harbor bacteria/viruses so if left alone undisposed -that nasty stuff will take hold even faster through increasing levels of inflammation,(our enemy) leading chronic diseases down the line too👺 !By coughing/ clearing throats etc frequent enough not only are viruses which suck life from us taken away but previous exposure can lead immune response memory that prove vital in beating disease altogether or its relapses!

Learning To Hock Like A Pro!

We’ve seen why spitting phlegms important 💪but how exactly does one do it? Here are some simple tips:

Ready Your Throat

Make sure that before hocking up any phlemy goodness/thickened saliva constituent 🤢, your throat isn’t dryreassure yourself it has sufficient internal moisture; ensuring throat muscles are activated beforehand helps prep us into action mode for when needed😂.

Lubricate Your Mouth

After all that talking or accidentally breathing 😆, it’s likely that your mouth is drier than toast stuck in the Sahara Desert – which makes hocking up anything less than pleasant. By lubricating your mouth with water or juice🧃 this helps loosen sticky sections of phlegm and prevent any discomfort as you expel it out.

Choose The Right Location

Its best to spit-out in a discrete location preferably not on passersby nor on surfaces frequently touched . Think dispose/gargle and flush if possible💦

Timing Is Key

Ensure either just before having a meal/beverage(this doesn’t include other humans drinks 🤢)or after brushing teeth can help clear away annoying gritty sensation overcoming true satisfaction.

Conclusion

Phlegm might be gross, but it serves an important biological purpose. Spitting it out regularly – at an appropriate place and time 😉- will improve both our health😷and social life 😀!
