Why is my stomach constantly rumbling?

There’s nothing more embarrassing than being in a silent room and suddenly, your stomach decides to make the loudest noise possible. It can happen at any time, day or night, and not only is it extremely annoying but it also leaves you feeling ashamed. So why does it happen? Here are some reasons.

You’re hungry

This one seems pretty obvious – if your stomach is growling then that means you’re probably hungry! Your body needs fuel in order to function properly so when there’s no food in your tummy it goes into starvation mode which activates muscle contractions in both the intestines and stomach. These contractions can cause noises that sound like grumbling or even bubbling sensations.

Stress

Stress is a common trigger for many bodily functions including your digestive system. When you’re stressed out your brain triggers the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) which leads to an increase in adrenaline levels throughout your body. This hormone speeds up digestion which causes noise as well as other symptoms like gas and bloating.

SIBO

SIBO stands for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth which basically means there’s an overgrowth of bacteria present within the small intestine itself- hence SIBO!. Symptoms include bloating, abdominal discomfort/crackling sounds,’rumblings’ due to fermentation of sugars by harmful strains of bacteria such as methane producing archaea-another form of single celled organism abundantall around us-that loves starches/sugary stuff found all around town!

Eating too quickly

If you eat too quickly then air gets trapped within your digestive tract creating gurgling sounds as well as increased burping/belching/loudish throat/rushing chewing motion resulting from insufficient mastication; essentially big chunks feeding down pipe!

Gastritis

Gastritis refers to inflammation of the lining in your stomach due to bacterial or viral infections, stress or even microscopic croaking species swimming around. Symptoms include nausea, bloating and abdominal pain as well as, you guessed it – rumbling.

Lactose intolerance

If you have trouble digesting lactose (found in milk/dairy) then any time you consume it, gas will form within your digestive tract which is a breeding ground for causing belly rumbles!

Caffeine

Coffee anyone? You may love that extra jolt of caffeine but what you may not know is that it can cause tummy grumbling because of how acidic coffee beans truly are! Plus when adrenaline hits after having this substance- both digestion speeds up AND contracts muscles whooohear ye hear ye!

So there they are; six reasons why your stomach might constantly be rumbling. But don’t fret too much: luckily most cases aren’t serious and can be fixed with some simple solutions.

What can I do about it?

  1. Eat slower.- Try chewing every bite 25 times before swallowing- it takes more effort than guzzling something down quick-like to get nutrients into soft oral substances like going on vacation slowly filling small tent pockets with delicious flavors

  2. Avoid Trigger Foods- Well duh!!! If chocolate or fried chicken/soda pop makes you gassysticktowhat works bestand see if things improve?

  3. Drink water regularly throughout day along-with juice avoiding dried fruits high in sugar-these tend causedifficulties breaking themdown rapidly changingfermentation levels leadingto lotsmore noise

  4. Exercising regularly – This helps burn calories while reducing stress hormones present all day longin body
5.Talktoyourdoctor-aboutfoodsdecreases symptoms related above couldrecommend other options/medications treating specific conditionsmentioned

In conclusion,
Having a growling stomach isn’t fun at any time but it’s normal and fixable in many cases. Remember to chew your food slowly, drink plenty of water, avoid trigger foods as wellasstay active by exercising regularly. And if all else fails then talk to your doctor about possible treatments that might help alleviate some of the symptoms you’re experiencing.

Above allyou can tryremembering this little factoid: “The sound is psychological- The stomach growls when we need fuel.” so what better way than focusing on feeding your body with nutrient-dense options right?
