Why fibroids occur?

Ladies, we need to talk about fibroids. It’s time to address those pesky growths that can cause all sorts of discomfort and wreak havoc on our menstrual cycle. But what exactly are fibroids and why do they appear? Don’t worry; I’ve got you covered with an explanation that will leave you laughing through the pain.

First things first, What are Fibroids?

Fibroids or leiomyomas, more commonly known as tumors in the uterus, are noncancerous growths that develop within the muscle tissue of a woman’s womb. They resemble firm rubbery nodules or balls which often sit on a stalk (fibroid pedicle) referred to as pedunculated uterine fibroid. Usually round in shape but could also have an irregular form too! Ain’t they choosy?

Aren’t they delightful? After all, who wouldn’t want tiny lumps growing inside their uterus?! Ok fine, maybe not so much!

So Why Do Women Develop Fibroids?

There is still a lot unknown about why women tend to get blimps inside their reproductive system because it just doesn’t seem fair right?. However scientists have observed some correlating factors associated with them which seems enough for us mortals.

A race against Race

Race may play a role for higher incidence rate among Black women compared other races however it occuring in any race group cannot be ruled out.

Hormonal Hijinks

Hormones can be mischievous culprits at times.LOVE YOUR SYSTEM WOMAN.NO SECOND THOUGHTS!. Estrogen and progesterone stimulate the development of uterine lining during menstruation every month.this seemingly monthly early years ritual prepares girls for work worthy end results .As these hormones rise, womb waltz slowly increases by causing formation of fibroids typically smaller than the size of track and field balls(about 2-6 cm). Symptoms may increase when reaching middle age or menopause as hormonal changes take place.

B.U.T (Why Not Say This Out Loud )

There’s a big ol’ caveat to placing all the blame on estrogen, though. If hormones were indeed solely responsible for these growths inside our uterine cavities, then wouldn’t women who’ve previously undergone hysterectomy be fibroid-less? Am I right?! Swiftly runs out of discussion circle

Genetics Got your Back (and Fibroids too)

On particularly blurry days, fibs become family traditions passed down through generations gettin’ everyone cramped up! Having relatives with “woomb lumps” increases one’s risk.have you ever heard “family is everything”? Well not everything because thanks to them(lol…), we could have inherited so many things we’re oblivious of.

Just Like An Atomic Bomb

Some people believe that trauma such as surgery,c-section apart from non-surgical ones like injury can start the proliferation process by causing small areas within uterus walls to heal repetitively. This results in new muscle mass being formed which has chances of developing into fibroids.

HEY CHILL LADIES NOT EVERY KNICK CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO FIBROIDS!

Types Of Fibroids(Fun Times Ahead!)

Don’t worry dear readers, I’m not done yet – there are even different types of fibroids that you should know about:

Submucosal

Bulky enough to cause visible bumps outside the womb; bulbous is more their style. They grow under lining in wall but slowly gaining snowballing effect, making passage for sperm tough & conception painful.Surgery becomes necessary after it’s marriage of inconvenience with cervix(mouth) occurs.Vaginal bleeding is a commonly reported symptom among victims.

All of that from just one specific type of fibroid! Yep, you heard me right!

Intramural (aka Resident Tumor)

Most commonly reported design. While it chooses to stay inside the wall of your womb, intramural fibroids can grow disco-size up to melon size.A word for thought, women with larger than lunar-sized tumors report significant loss in quality of life. Not looking too cheery now are they?

Subserosal

These babies live on outside walls, making appearance like a lopsided pregnancy bump or maybe a slightly-sideways belt tied around waist. Can crush nearby organs causing havoc which could lead to tension filled confrontations between heart and lungs only intensified by shortness of breath.(subserosal is tough competition!)

Pedunculated Uterine Fibroids

I’ve already explained these little-steppers above when discussing what says hello in most internal ultrasound cases.

Symptoms: Is That What I’m Dealing With?

Now don’t think your uterus will let these little squatters live rent-free –no this isn’t home office we talking about- there are some very noticeable symptoms which may include:

  1. Prolonged menstruation.
  2. Spotting between periods.
  3. Frequent urination – In worst cases where ureters gets knocked around this symptom could set the tone for wrongful blame games .
  4. Constipation(Dear digestive system, fibs would try but sorry cupcake, you night not feel it too much!)
    5.Painful sex.[yes-the ladies favourite;better safe than sorry as i say 🙂 ]
6.Infertility(While infertility is close cousin rather than direct outcome, intramural phenotypes have been identified as “Womb Blocker Jenny”. poor name choice but whatever, get’s point across!)

But here’s my favorite description because its descriptive yet quite hilarious….

Some women even describe feeling “like I’m being stabbed by thousands of tiny knives repeatedly” GULP

To Summarize

So in conclusion, fibroids occur for a variety of reasons including hormones, genetics and even trauma or injury. While it might be amusing to poke fun at these little lumpy buggers – like trying to play pinball with your fallopian tubes as the bumpers – we know they can cause significant discomfort if left unchecked.

To help manage fibroids and their symptoms, regular checkups with your gynecologist are a must! I hope this article has been both entertaining and informative because sometimes laughter is the only solution when you’re dealing with anything uterus-related![who’s laughing now huh? Lumpy things] So go ahead ladies, have an LOL because heck what else are going to do but laugh about it?

Stay safe out there – Hasta la vista dear pesky fibroid tumors!
