What is same?

Every living being on this planet shares some similarities, and humans are no exception. From physical appearance to characteristics and features, we all have something in common that makes us same. But what is same? How do we define it? Read on as we explore the world of sameness with a humorous twist.

Let’s Start With The Obvious One

Humans share similar physical traits; two arms, two legs, one pair of eyes…the list goes on. It’s not surprising considering our evolutionary history as primates. Biologically speaking, our genes largely dictate how identical twins would turn out (and let’s face it they’re probably more alike than most siblings!). That being said there are plenty of other things that make us same beyond just genetics.

Mirror Mirror On The Wall

Who doesn’t like looking at themselves in the mirror once in a while? Even Narcissus couldn’t resist his own reflection! While obviously images vary across individuals’ facial characterizations, overall structure similarity can lead to some perks for society too since facial recognition technology has become integral through time or perhaps even bring people together romantically (ahem Tinder profiles).

‘Same Wave’

We relate to others based on their experiences because if theirs is our experience then wells…#samevibes man. Hence ‘relatable memes’ became an important aspect within our digital culture nowadays where everyone searches for funny pictures with captions embodying relatability from every store counter attendant contemplating quitting after customer number 384756 says “HeY i JuST PrInTED ThE nOT AvAilaBlE SlIP”. They include anything from different eating/drinking habits between regions or Cringey ‘chris brown did me wrong so here’s my outlet rant now lemme take a sip’ tweets Nonetheless it provides unity among individuals who share the same culture and interests.

‘Birds of a Feather Flock Together’

Why is it that we tend to find our community? Your social circle may frequently share more in common than you think, from language influences & tone impersonations to even finding the good lady caramel popcorn maker who knows how much butter to add. It’s simply because we enjoy exchanging stories, beliefs, music tastes etc with those based on similarity thus raising morale as well as positive inter personal relationships.

Home Is Where The Heart Is

Home comforts definitely become enduring over periods of time for many reasons but mostly due to a longing for familiarity without adaption or struggle. Home dining habits stay etched within individuals through their lives meaning tons would always prefer what they are used too; talk about comfort food…from pop corn flavours added at home after trying them out of classmate’s lunch boxes or developing an addiction towards the concept + friendly displays certain restaurants provide i.e free starters up till ten bucks worth when purchasing entrée/ entree/drink combos! We’re partial towards anything specific displayed by screenplays visuals/cinematography taste such cheesy romantic comedy films marked with a stereotypical eponymous ending filled with clichés and coincidences yet boldly breaking societal norms mean “PRINCESS SWITCH” will remain unbeatable nonetheless.

All That Glitters Isn’t Gold

Humankind cannot continue survivalistically being blinded by replicating previously fulfilled choices since there should be room for individuals’ enlightenment via diversity without any hatred induced whatsoever .Embracing new cultures, perspective shifts represents incredible growth simultaneously enriching not only self-experience but society standards retrospectively.

We have explored ‘same’ from various aspects above – physiology-structure cultural-relatability-experience besides one important point: Uniqueness! Everyone has imperfections/scars/birthmarks/[insert here your v distinct factor] that may prompt tea time conversations with others, personifying our eccentricity to the highest degree. Embracing one’s individuality whilst simultaneously acknowledging universal factors we all share is what truly makes life beautiful.

So go out there and be unique in your own way while embracing sameness around you, so as the poet Rumi quotes “In this world of trickery, emptiness and sorcery let us embrace brotherhood for we are same flowers from one garden“.
