Unseen, Unfelt: You’re Working Anyway

Working from home has seen a meteoric rise in recent years- and the trend is here to stay. While it’s certainly convenient for those of us who hate wearing pants, working remotely comes with its own set of unique challenges. One such challenge is being productive in an environment that you otherwise associate with relaxation.

It’s easy to get caught up in distractions when you don’t have colleagues or supervisors peering over your shoulder, but fear not! We’ve compiled some helpful tips on how to be as productive as possible whilst remaining unseen and unfelt!

Grab Your Coffee And Get Dressed (Sorry Pajamas)

Sure, one of the big perks of work-from-home life is staying comfy all day long. But consider this – if your body isn’t used to loungewear outside of bedtime hours, it might equate comfort-wear with sleep-time…not exactly conducive for hard grafting office work! So dress like you would make an effort dressing out even if there’s nobody looking at you (we promise we won’t tell).

Save your pajamas for sleeping and approach each day like it’s any other time you would leave the house. Aside from giving yourself a bit more structure mentally- making sure clothes are washed frequently can give you something extra achieve during short breaks throughout the week!

Morning routines matter

Take advantage of still retaining control over morning routines especially in aspects as not having a boring commute (yawn), take care on yourself before diving into heavy duties; use that extra half-hour wisely . Whether it be working out(tehe) , learning something new through youtube tutorials or meditation – setting aside time before beginning work will improve productively exponentially (promise).

Mitigate Distractions : Manifesto against Ambient Sound

We know that sweet sweet emails don’t answer themselves – but whoa whoa..stop reaching for those earbuds just yet! Ambient noise or having background sound like music is nice when we’re washing dishes, but while you’re juggling complex work tasks the brain can typically only handle one distraction at a time.

Plus, if you really think about it – how often do people tune their playlist out infuriating!? Try swapping your usual energetic playlists for some classical pieces – research has shown that it enhances cognitive function and boosts overall concentration. It’s less flashy than trying to stop every email pinging to your inbox!

Goodbye Desk Congestion

Laptops are known for being portable right? Then why not make use of that (duh). Set up shop (read:desk) in different spots during the day – this will help curbing boredom by adding novelty. One day hammering away at projects from coffee shops (COVID-19 regulations permitting)another maybe outside on a park bench if WIFI is available!. Exposure to new environment helps improve our mood thus inducing more positivity towards our workday.

A Little Something Extra-Schedule Your Day

Your might have had your heart set on achieving an idealistic image of floating around leisurely whilst being productive —However organisation is key when attempting to maintain productivity flow otherwise mission-impossible level procrastination can begin creeping in.

Scheduling each task within given timeframe throughout the day ensures superhuman focus ( emphasis goes here ) .It eliminates unnecessary dawdling which ultimately reduces lifetime earnings (gasps). Take advantage!

Time Management = Procrastination Eliminator

No matter how much independence working remotely offers you ,it also suffers from drawbacks brought about exclusively by its autonomy; including lack of set schedules(this does NOT give us permission AGAIN (!!)to dress lazily!!)

So whether making use of traditional means(eg Paper diaries), online calendars or project management tools such as Trello – creating timed blocks allows dividing larger objectives into smaller more manageable tasks, easing cognitive overload whilst helping you through ‘lazy spells’. Bloc out day for work-related duties and self-reward in break-times making breaks become a powerful motivator to maintain better productivity.

Fuel Up

We’ve all heard the phrase “you are what you eat”- as cliche as it sounds, there’s some truth to that. Being stuck indoors doesn’t give us the same opportunity of stocking-up on vital micronutrients we’d usually get walking out for lunchtime(cries)

Scheduling or planning meals ahead ensures our un-angelic cravings aren’t causing midday droopy eyes or headaches hence diminishing productivity. It provides enough nourishment throughout your working hours to stay healthy and happy – ultimately enhancing overall productivity….ahhh heavenly Starbucks recommended coffee never sounded so good!

Humble hydration is paramount

Upping their water intake has been known by many who find themselves often tired during peak working hours! Not only does regular water drinking keep hunger boutons at bay it creates fullness thus preventing patients from overeating due to mistaken thirsts.=longer periods of focus!(woohoo!)

The Human Touch (mmmmm hugs)

Working From Home can sometimes churn up feelings of loneliness or isolation which could be detrimental on employee satisfaction slowing down general motivation pace. The extent when these impacts begin kicking in may vary between different individuals – but volunteering taking initiative where possible; joining social media groups or reaching out via video calls might help tackle the issue, adding just enough face-to-face interaction whilst maintaining remote status safe & well!

Summation

If working remotely was ever compared with living off-grid then this would most definitely serve as its survival guide.Despite how liberating being unseen abd unnoticed can feel initially, the responsibility put upon yourself increases – which means increasing accountability along with high levels of determination w=will maximize success!
Keep telling yourself consistency equals cream cakes(damn diets) – there’s no halting for success after all!
