Spice Up Your Cleanse: Herbs to Burn

We all know the drill, folks. You wake up in the morning and feel like a bloated balloon ready to pop. At this point, you’re either going for that cup of coffee or reaching for that bottle of green juice. Some of us even go so far as to embark on a cleanse journey, which can turn out quite swell if you know what you’re doing! Unfortunately green juices get boring real quick (unless your fave restaurant is Jamba Juice), and coffee definitely makes its way back into our lives in no time.

Fear not! There are plenty of ways to spice things up during your cleanse without compromising your progress. One major example is adding herbs into the mix! Not only do they help with digestion, but certain herbal ingredients both promote fat burning and lessen severe cravings. Ready to make moves? Keep reading!

Let’s kick off with some drinks since those are always more interesting than meals:

Hibiscus Tea

Hibiscus is typically a flower used in teas down at Starbucks or Tim Hortons (depending on where you grew up). Recipe:

  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Sliced ginger root
  • Water

Fill a pitcher halfway with water and throw in fresh rosemary and sliced ginger. Add extra lemon or mint for style points. Allow an hour in fridge before drinking; sip through the day for health benefits!

Adding herbs creatively even with breakfast…let’s look at some ingenious recipes:

Chia Seed Pudding w/ Mint Leaves

Ingredients–(one serving)

Mix additional ingredients well within the jar/shake until mixture is thick but creamy consistency pop that sucker in the fridge overnight . Wake up, top off pudding dish w/mint leaves/.enjoy.

Vegetable Stew w/ Thyme

This stew recipe has long-lasting flavoring so if preparing , think making enough leftovers / taking lunch mixtures’ll save major preparation time!! The onion + garlic base indeed calls thyme over ;otherwise veggie medley may taste slightly bland.

Recipe:

Ingredients:
– 3 cloves of garlic, minced
– 1 sweet onion, chopped
– Carrots, chopped
– Potatoes (diced)
fresh thyme……..
Seasoning

Sauté onions and garlic within a pot in until soft/toss-in potatoes/carrots together—stir for several minutes/Add enough broth depending on your preference allow the mixture to boil. Then turn down heat leading add fresh sprigs of thyme into the stew/purée small portions to perfectos/natural thickening e before serving.

Basil Cucumber Salad

Green salads can get boring! Steer away from usual lettuces however delightful concoctions may arise—you’re probably aware with Rome’s most popular dishes Caprese Salad where Tomato/Mozzarella Cheese/Basil are combined.. However nobody put cucumbers under suspicion!

Recipe:

Ingredients–
Dressing recipe-(2 servings):
– Balsamic vinegar’olive oil’mustard(either whole grain or French’s)
Salad ingredients :
cucumber sliced in half moons—4 inches total scoop-for-each-tablespoon olive oil plus seasoning/
cherry tomatoes/cubed mozzarella cheese/sliced avocado/toasted almonds/fresh basil leaves

Wash all veggies/proteins off well/. rinse chicken lastly-simply stir dressing ingredients together before topping entire mixes w/ lemon juice/dish-specific seasonings/thinly sliced basil leaves!

Burn Baby Burn

It’s too good to be true that you could burn more fat by simply ingesting herbs– but it is indeed legit !

Black Pepper

Black pepper stimulates digestion while easing nausea commonly associated with low caloric intake.
