Peanut butter and what?

If you’re anything like me, you probably have a love affair with peanut butter. This sticky brown paste has been my go-to snack for years now. I’ve used it in recipes, eaten it straight out of the jar (don’t judge), and even slathered it on sandwiches. But as much as I adore this nutty spread, there comes a point where you start to wonder…what else can I pair with it?

The Classic Combos

Let’s get one thing clear: peanut butter and jelly is an unbeatable combination that will never go out of style. It’s sweet, satisfying and the perfect pick-me-up after a long day at work or school (or if you just need something to help cope with life). But what about other classic combinations? Here are some tried-and-true pairings that people have been enjoying for decades:

  • Peanut Butter & Honey
  • Peanut Butter & Banana
  • Peanut Butter & Chocolate
  • Peanut Butter & Apples

All delicious choices in their own right but chances are – YOU’VE already experienced these combos.

Some Unconventional Suggestions:

Peanut Butter + Pickles: The mere mention of this pairing might make your skin crawl BUT hear me out – Salty pickle chips dipped into creamy PB works surprisingly well! Give it a chance!

Peanut butter + Ramen Noodles: Yes, ramen noodles typically get mixed up with sodium-packed powder seasoning packets full of MSG NOT anymore! By mixing the broth packet with reduced-fat chunky PB instead can really turn around a college-students-budget meal.

Peanut butter + Sriracha sauce: Yes folks. Spicy chili-paste melted into luxurious peanut-butter-sauce over rice-noodles creates an unexpected burst in flavor!

Okay okay…we’ll leave some experimentation up to your discretion!

Let’s Talk Peanut Butter & Cheese!

Peanut butter + cheese?
Yes, you read that right.

At first glance, it may seem like a strange combination – sweet, nutty peanut butter with savory cheese seems just…wrong.
But let me tell you something: these two actually go together a lot better than people give them credit for.

Picture this: A soft pretzel stick covered in gooey melted cheese and topped with dollops of creamy peanut butter. By virtue of its chewy and addictive nature – it scans well on paper (and even better in real life). The slightly salty tangness of the gooey cheddar beautifully compliments the earthiness profile notes found in natural peanut butters.

If you’re feeling extra daring or adventurous try pairing your favorite aged sharp cheddar with chunky-style PB spread over rice crackers or grill up some PB-slathered mini burgers along with melted gouda to serve as afternoon snacks at a house party – indulge yourself!

Desserts As You’ve Never Enjoyed Before

Now we come to my personal favourite reason why I’m writing about unconventional pairings:
the DESSERTS

Oh boy…

Imagine crunchy waffles topped off with fresh chopped bananas layered between smooth organic whipped cream and lashings of warm satiny-smooth peanut-butter syrup drizzling down each crevice….Mmmm

I think we can all agree how great this sounds.

From frozen custard-topped popsicles dipped into white chocolate flavored-PB coating OR trying out an almond crusted ‘cheesecake’ made using dairy-free cream-cheese alternative such as cashew cream AND simply swirl peanutbutter throughout, creating layers upon layers oh luscious heaven (THIS IS AN ORIGINAL RECIPE BY THE AUTHOR PPTEKOH) – there really is no dearth when talking ‘peanut butter paired desserts’ – Let your imagination run wild but our taste buds thank you!

The Peanut Butter & Gin Martini

For those over 18 years of age, This next combo is surely a must-try – peanut butter martini.
Yes – YOU read it right.

I can assure you; this isn’t just a fanciful concept. It’s quite possibly one of the most delicious and interesting cocktails out there…especially for anyone who’s crazy in love with PB.

This perfect marriage represents traditional gin-based Martinis (you know the drill), mixed along with plenty-nutty peanut butter sweetness until perfectly balanced (probably best suited when having dinner parties and gatherings). Enhanced by pairing together through its shared botanical note profiles found within the bittersweet liquorum – undoubtedly an unexpected epiphany moment will hit anyone daring enough to give it a go.

So: what are your thoughts?
Are we craving anything other than ‘crunchy peanut butter on toast’? I’d be keen to hear!
