My Mind’s Saying No, But My Body’s Ready

We’ve all heard the phrase “mind over matter,” but what happens when your mind and body are in two completely different places? It can make for some confusing and hilarious situations. Here are some examples of times where our bodies were ready to party, but our minds just couldn’t get on board.

The Morning After

Picture this: you wake up after a wild night out with friends. Your head is pounding, your mouth feels like the Sahara desert, and you can barely stand up without falling over. Yet somehow, despite feeling like death warmed over, your body is telling you that it’s time to do something active.

“I know I said last night was my cheat day, but I think I need another one.”

You muster up the courage to drag yourself out of bed and stumble towards your workout bag. As you start warming up at the gym or going through yoga poses in the living room, you begin to feel more alive than ever before! Suddenly it hits – you have sweat coming from pores of which had no idea existed.

Your brain is still foggy from all those shots last night so every step seems likes its almost about to lead us astray.Additionally, the music beats inside of our skin; we find ourselves trying to dance off any memory of last night as broken fragments cloud our thoughts.

Cravings

Have there been instances where our tummies’ desire contradicts everything else? It’s experienced by everyone. Not very often though, you end up craving ice cream yet it’s freezing cold outside!

Our brains try their best into thinking logically,it could probably go along these lines:

“Youre blithering buffoon! You’ll morbidly freeze.”

But still…you crave anyways..and who am i kidding..heat shmheat…

Suddenly ,our bloodstream becomes frenzied ! We march toward an open ice cream stand like a battalion of heat-tolerant warriors.

After that first lick,we eventually come to terms with the contrast between our mind and body.

The Gym Conundrum

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of finishing up a tough workout at the gym. Our bodies feel invigorated, and we’re ready to take on anything that comes our way all while feeling as though we’ve attained actual immortality.Yet when someone extends an invitation to hangout after or perhaps offer dessert by their place, suddenly there’s change in tides! Your commitment seems soo distant!

“Oh yeah – you know what,I’m almost outta storage on my phone let me check…oh it needs some serious updating..soon.”

Don’t get us wrong-We sure love working out,but theres just something about kicking back sweating free with no heavy breathing .

Our minds keep telling us “no” but unfortunately tonight,FOMO has taken over instigating us upon golden risks.

Unlike moments past where climbing Mount Everest seemed less challenging than going for one more session,it mainly stems from societal instincts : everyone else seems to be drinking/eating/laughing – we surely won’t miss out?

Once again, the mind is persuaded and logic deceptions win over. Our off-colored attire testify nonetheless.#noregrets

Conclusion

In conclusion ,what have learnt so far? Pouring ourselves into somewhat uncomfortable situations always seem excruciating but ultimately satisfactory albeit momentarily(in moderation). These desires are usually overshadowed by societal beliefs, others expectations, routine habits et al therefore hiding natural gut feelings away .

Whether its listening avidly to tirades during meetings since paying attention isn’t possible after work leading one to beatboxing instead trying not to distract anyone- It’s alright if your mind keeps dragging feet on these issues. To say otherwise would only cause internal conflict .The most important thing is they were set aside for a moment by a simple spontaneous, unadulterated ‘YOLO’ – you only live once.
