Is voltaren and diclofenac the same?

Are you tired of not being able to tell your pain medications apart? Do you find yourself accidentally taking a headache pill instead of something that will dull that pesky back ache? Fear not, for today we are going to delve into the question on everyone’s minds: is Voltaren and Diclofenac the same thing?

What is Voltaren?

Voltaren is a brand name medication that contains diclofenac sodium as its active ingredient. It belongs to a class of drugs known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which treat inflammation and alleviate pain.

And what about Diclofenac?

Diclofenac is actually just the generic name for this very same drug. Meaning if you have ever taken voltaren before then congrats! You too have already had diclofenac!

So there we have it folks! Case closed! End article?

Well, let’s slow down just a bit here. While they do contain identical active ingredients voltaren comes in multiple different forms such as gels or topical applications whereas diclofenac come in those plus more traditional tablets/capsules/ect.. which dissolves after swallowing for oral administration.

The Forms

In laymen’s terms, you can get Voltaren either through cream or gel application directly onto skin where needed or with some orally swallowed pills while on other side generally speaking when referring to plain ol’ “dicofenacs” most often take them with water after wrangling off their child proof cap,and waiting for it to work. And when it does…magic happens.

Another benefit from these two slightly different forms has opened up new ways doctors prescribe these insanely useful little tic-tacks(supplements?). Since some people may react better/worse depending on way/by which means Intake/skin absorption method They now have the choice of what works best for the diseased/different patient in front of them.

The Dosage

It is also worth noting that their dosage recommendations can differ slightly with voltaren being more expensive due to its better absorption rates and specialized actions upon application. They like to think they specialize in your pain. And boy, does it hurt – right where it (counts) should!

So when picking between these two brethren medications ask yourself “what do I need”, “what works best for me,” or even consider some aspirin and placebo drops (while doctors try to figure out why you got a cold…strange times folks..) Remember: while they may share common properties, no medication is truly identical.

Similarities Depend Upon Science Fiction

Imagine we rocked up at NASA(or Elon Musk’s labs?!) HQ asked somebody working there(not the janitor- someone important), if every engine ever made by humans worked or functioned identically.Or just decide let data speak truth itself which unsurprisingly show us different internal designs/functional uses, and since everything has offshoots including planets, molecules etc.(I could be wrong though eg Soyuz rocket engines!).Example shown agrees isn’t it !

Sure none of this poetically effusive medical talk answered original article question,”The heck man!? Is Voltaren still Diclofenac ?”. To which answer obviously yes, besides price tag , applications and dose-ing differences. While they are clearly fraternal twins with an almost indistinguishable generic list,(maybe hair color?) so shop around a bit;explore options! You never know what will work best until you try.
