  • For aerosol powder, breath activated products : Know how to use before taking. Tell Dr. if using rescue inhaler more & more often. Protect from heat,light,& moisture.
  • For aerosol with adapter products : Will not stop an acute asthma attack. Know how to use before inhaling. Shake well before using. Tell doctor if exposed to chicken pox or measles.
  • For blister, with inhalation device products : Will not stop an asthma attack. Use as scheduled. Learn how to correctly use this medicine. Use water to rinse/gargle and spit out after dose. May take 2 weeks for full benefit of therapy. Use peak flow meter. Call MD immediately if worse. Avoid smoking, allergens, smoke and irritants.
  • For cream products : Use on face/under arms/or groin only if directed. Avoid contact with eyes, inside of nose or mouth. Not recommended for diaper rash. Wash hands before and after using. Clean and dry skin, then use a thin layer on area. Do not bandage unless told by doctor. Call doctor if you are not better in 2 weeks. Use only prescribed dura- tion. Ask MD if unsure.
  • For lotion products : Use for other problems only if directed by MD.
  • For ointment products : Do not use in children. Call doctor if condition does not improve.
  • For spray, suspension products : If available, read the patient package insert. Test spray before first use. Blow nose gently before dose. Shake gently. Take at the same time every day. May take several days for full benefit. Take doses regularly, even when feeling well. Tell doctor your complete medical history.
