Preparing Your Ingredients

Now let’s learn how to prepare each ingredient so they can play their part well while being harmoniously mixed up .Technical note: wash fruits & veggies properly under running water before cutting them into appropriate sizes as per requirement specified below

Spinach

Spinach also known as “palak” locally comes dirt-cheap in India. Wash it very carefully under running water and chop 1 cup of it into appropriate sizes.

Carrots

The carrots that we have to use need to be peeled off first then washed under running water after which they are grated, finely chopped or blended- as per your preference. This will be an approximate half-cup serving size.

Apple

Not that kind of apple but the normal one with red/ green skin sold at grocery stores near you . Cut off any bad spots then remove seeds & core the center, slice(s) off about a quarter-inch thickness .

Cucumber

Take a long English cucumber if available in two or three inches pieces for instance because they are straight with minimal soft seeds unlike fancy-end-of-the-world-market-place cucumbers(bad example? See! )but still will get along well enough while blending plus less chance of yellow bitter gunk spoiling taste – so wash all sides thoroughly and cut appropriately keeping in mind balance between texture & flavor juice.

Ginger root

Peel ginger using the back end (curved portion) of spoon till its outer layer turns smooth shiny surface.Then cut them into smaller chunks around say 1 tablespoon worth.
