How to maintain a good relationship with your partner?
Are you tired of being single? Do you want to spend the rest of your days not alone, but with someone who can tolerate your jokes and quirks? Then it’s time to find yourself a partner – but keeping that relationship alive is another story.
Maintaining a good relationship takes more than just love and affection. It requires understanding, patience, and sometimes even sacrifice (like giving up those nachos for the sake of their dairy-free diet). Here are some tips on how to keep things smooth sailing in your romance:
Communication is Key
One of the most important elements in any relationship is communication. Let’s be honest: no one wants to date an emotional Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robot. In order for both partners’ needs and feelings to be understood properly, there has to be clear communication channels available at all times.
Advice: Avoid using text messages as primary communication; nothing hurts worse than discovering through emoji that you’ve been dumped. Instead, use phone calls or video chats when possible so that tone can be heard clearly.
Date Nights (Not Wrestling Matches)
There’s no better way to strengthen a bond between two people than by spending quality time together! When life gets busy, it’s easy for some couples to forget about planning special occasions like date nights – this may lead them feeling unappreciated over time. Rekindling that spark doesn’t have require wearing matching turtlenecks while bonding over lava cake–it could also mean taking cute walks or watching cheesy romcoms (our personal fave)
Examples:
– Surprise each other by picking out activities
– Dress up nicely once in awhile
– Challenge yourselves into learning something new together
Fight Right–Like Kindergarteners
Arguing from time-to-time is part any healthy relationships dynamics.. unless you’re arguing over who hypothetically win in a “cage match” as if you’re camouflaged WWE contestants. To minimize any personal injury–whether physical or emotional–during disagreements, try to stick with kindergartener tactics: avoid name-calling and yelling (like seriously, no need for sore throat) . Instead, remember that communication is still key.
Believe me: We’ve seen countless amounts of relationship #fails mainly due to aggressive argument strategies cough divorce lawyers cough. Adults that act like children have a better chance at winning – this means throwing some stuffed animals around & laughing together!
Learn Each Other’s Love Language (No Text Required)
The love language concept may sound like an unnecessary term from the power-of-positive-thinking bookshelf- but we believe it truly has value. It simply refers to how each individual feels and also recognizes love. Understanding what makes your partner feel valued can only benefit both parties’ happiness levels.
Steps:
1. Start by figuring out what method(s) work best for them using resources like conversations , examples etc.
2. Offer reminders about their daily efforts
– Example: If acts of service gesture resonates strongly with your SO — surprise them by doing little household chores they are not fond of
Respect… Like You Would a Dog/Kid
You wouldn’t hurt those dogs ears when scolding house train mishaps ‘right’? Similarly — treating people with respect should be just as second nature…especially in long-term relationships. There’s no way anyone wants to constantly walk on eggshells while talking to a person whom they’re meant to snuggle every night.
Suggestion: always remind yourself of why you choose want chose each other : because both individuals deserve unconditional affection & respect.
Maintaining=works = hard committed enthusiasm & effort all-the-time! However – doesn’t mean it needs sacrificing personal needs and happiness. Constantly working together to improve existing things always beneficial. Just remember, no matter the road-blocks that come up over time if both remain transparent & faithful everything lasts — like microwave popcorn!
