How to file down a plantar wart?

Plantar warts are the worst. They’re like little gremlins on your feet, just waiting for their chance to come out and ruin your day. But fear not my friends, because today we’re going to talk about how to file down those pesky plantar warts once and for all.

What is a Plantar Wart?

Before we dive into how to get rid of them though, let’s take a moment to understand what exactly we’re dealing with here. A plantar wart is basically just a smaller version of the wart you might have had on your finger or somewhere else on your body at some point in time. Except this one has chosen the bottom of your foot as its new home.

Fun fact: did you know that plantar warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV)? That’s right folks, if you have one of these suckers it means you’ve been infected by an STD! Just kidding…kinda.

Step 1: Soak Your Feet

Now that we’ve identified our enemy, it’s time to start prepping for battle. The first thing you’ll want to do is soak your feet in water for about 10 minutes before attempting any kind of wart removal process.

This will help soften up the skin around the wart and make filing it down much easier later on. You can add Epsom salts or even apple cider vinegar if you really feel like taking things up a notch!

Pro tip: If at any point during this whole process you feel uncomfortable or experience pain beyond normal tolerances then stop immediately and consult with a specialist.

Step 2: Get Grinding!

Alright now onto everyone’s favorite part – grinding away at that sucker until there’s nothing left but memories (and maybe some residual scars). For this task you’ll need a pumice stone or a nail file. You can also use an electric callus remover if you’re feeling fancy.

Gently grind away at the wart with your chosen utensil until it’s level with the surrounding skin. Be patient and don’t overdo it – this isn’t a race, it’s about getting to that finish line in one piece (and without making things worse!)

Step 3: Apply Salicylic Acid

After all that hard work grinding down the wart, now is the time to apply salicylic acid. This substance will help break down any remaining layers of dead skin cells around the wart and keep it from growing back.

You can find salicylic acid in many different forms such as gels, liquids or patches. Regardless of which kind you end up going with just make sure to follow instructions carefully for best results!

Warning: Keep in mind that if your plantar wart looks infected then applying anything like acetic acid could potentially worsen things rather than helping them.

Step 4: Let Repeat Until Cured

Now comes the boring part – waiting… Waiting for our friend Mr Wart be completely gone before we move to our next victims…

While you wait however its important continue taking care of your feet by maintaining good hygiene/dryness standards every day! So go ahead put on some thick socks after letting everything air dry thoroughly so no unintended moisture creates newer problems later on down road 😉
