But don’t worry, my hearing-impaired friends! We’ve got you covered. In this guide, we’ll show you how to clean ear wax out of your earbuds so they sound crystal clear once again.

Before We Get Started…

Before we jump into the nitty-gritty details of cleaning your earbuds, let’s go over some important things to keep in mind when dealing with your ears:

  1. Wax is normal: Everyone produces earwax and it’s actually there to protect our ears by trapping dirt and bacteria.

  2. Don’t use Q-tips: Contrary to popular belief, using cotton swabs (like Q-tips) can push the wax further down into your ears or even cause damage to them.

  3. Be gentle: When cleaning anything near or inside our delicate ears, being gentle is key.

Now that we have those three things out of the way, let’s get on with what y’all came here for – how do I clean these darn things?

Step By Step Instructions

  1. Remove your ear tips: If your buds have removable silicone or foam ear tips, take them off and set aside neatly on a clean dry surface.

  2. Inspect the nozzle: Using a flashlight might be helpful but not necessary – it’s important to check the front part of the bud where sound comes out for any residue build up which can accumulate over time.

  3. Cleaning Solution The solution to our problem is one most are familiar with in their never-ending house cleaning endeavors – Rubbing alcohol! Having this readily available at home means you won’t have to go risking your life especially if you’re social distancing!

  4. Dipping Time: Dip toothbrush completely into rubbing alcohol then gently brush nozzle area lightly getting rid of wellying wax and oily grime built up around that particular spot. Simply refill dish with rubbing alcohol as required.

  5. With the Magic Eraser (If preferred), use dampened Mc’er in same motion as above!

  6. Afterward, dry with microfiber cloth before leaving it out overnight prior to avoiding moisture accumulation…
