How to apply lotion to your back without help?

We all know the struggle of trying to rub lotion on our backs without help. It’s like trying to scratch an itch in the middle of your back – completely frustrating and almost impossible. But fear not, friend! There are a few tricks up my sleeve that will make this task a whole lot easier for you.

The Chair Method

One simple method is using a chair, preferably one with arms. This is actually easier than it sounds.

  1. Sit down in the chair.
  2. Squirt some lotion onto your hand and then reach behind you.
  3. Lean forward slightly and rest your elbows on the chairs arms while rubbing in circular motions.
  4. Repeat as needed.

One major downfall about this method is that you can’t see where exactly you’re placing the lotion because you’re working blindly; but hey no pain no gain!

Using a Long Spoon

Another option would be using any long spoon at your disposal- just make sure there aren’t holes or openings.

  1. Take said spoon, scoop some lotion with it
  2. Reach around back as far as possible.
3.Gently slide spoon against skin sponging into itself from top to bottom ensuring even distribution
    4.Repeat until completion

You might have noticed but there’s somethings very parallel between “The Chair Method” and “Using A Long Spoon”; they both require tools for either use being an armrest or anything remotely resembling a utensil- reminds me why there truly isn’t shortcuts when completing tasks…

Even though this seems more complicated than interacting with humans we hope these pointers do get rid of that nagging itch- metaphorically speaking-, if none work out try asking someone else in shameless honesty we’ve all been-there-done-that.

Invest In A Lotion Applicator (Fancy I Know)

If neither one of these options seems like the perfect fit, you might want to consider investing in a lotion applicator. Yes! It’s possible some geniuses out there not only made this contraption but marketted it.

  1. Buy an extendable lotion applicator – this should be easily available online or at your local pharmacy.
2.Apply some Lotion to the reverse side/foam end of device(recommended is flipping container vertical with cap set onto counter horizontally).
  2. Hold onto handle and place other hand at end closest to foam section- drawing closer towards body.
4.Glide across areas where hard-to-reach reach leaving behind product as needed . Since most are washable later clean utensil.

The plus here is that beside making your life easier without reaching beyond human arm limitations, they come with adaptable heads that can apply lotions & creams for any area imaginable. And perhaps my favorite feature? You get control over applying consistent amounts very important if you’re all about practicality.

Another Way: Use Your Rug

Yes, we know it sounds strange but hear us out before running off to play around on the floorboards.

1.Lay a towel or rug on the ground making sure no dust has accumulated… hygiene first!
2.Put enough lotion on back(outlining area necessary)
3.Gently lay down using hands propped up by palms leaning while hunching shoulders(remaining lower half stiff)
4.Compress fabric against skin moving limbs forward and back in elegant gliding movements (think rollercoaster)-better done whilst playing upbeat tune
5.Pull yourself upright and dress up knowing full well- nothing truly rivals decent selfcare products kind mood

Check!

This method firstly IS NOT recommended if a medical history meeting injury requirements exist; besides slipping why would anyone go backwards right?Well considering Doctors’ orders(highly overrated) ; let’s shove that health conscious inner voice aside however do beware of slippage.
