How to activate 7 chakras through meditation?

Do you ever feel like your energy is out of balance or that you’re just not quite centered? Well, have no fear because activating your seven chakras can help with all that, and more! If you’ve never heard of the chakra system before, it might seem a little woo-woo or new age-y, but hear me out. Your chakras are essentially energetic centers located in different parts of your body, from your root all the way up to your crown. Activating them through meditation can help you achieve a greater sense of physical and emotional well-being. Plus, it’s a great excuse to sit still for a while and listen to some Enya.

If the thought of trying to activate these mysterious energy centers seems daunting, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered. Here’s how to get those chakras spinning in no time!

First Things First: What Are Chakras?

Before we dive into the specifics on each individual chakra and how to activate them through meditation, let’s talk about what they actually are. As mentioned earlier, there are seven main chakras aligned along our spine from the base up our head.

Each one corresponds with different aspects such as;

  • Emotional state
  • Physical organ or part
  • Color
  • Element

To bring awareness in detail:

Chakra Location Organ/ Body Part Color
Root Base Of Spine Uterus(For Women)/Prostate (Men) Red
Sacral(Seat) Lower Abdomen/Pelvis Area – Orange
Solar Plexus MId Chest Above Navel / Stomach Area – Yellow
Heart Center of Chest Heart Green
Throat Base of throat Thyroid Gland /throat Blue
Third Eye Forehead/Between Eyebrows Pitutary gland/Pineal glands/Gut Instincts -Indigo
Crown Top Of the Head – Violet

When we talk about “activating” our chakras, we mean clearing any blockages or distortions in these centers so that they can function at their optimal level again. Think of your chakra system like a pipe – if there’s a kink somewhere along the line, energy flow will be inhibited.

And what happens when energy isn’t flowing as it should? You may experience:

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself and others
  • Being more prone to illness/discomfort
  • Having difficulty maintaining focus or feeling grounded

None of that sounds particularly great, right? So let’s get on with activating your seven chakras!

Steps to Activate Your Chakras through Meditation

If you’re new to meditation, don’t worry; this is not an ‘eat-pray-love’ situation where you need to sit for hours without seeing anyone! We recommend carving out ATLEAST 3-5 min per day for each individual meditation but feel free do add up subsequently each time.

Here are some general tips before we dive into how to activate each individual chakra. While they might seem basic enough, don’t skimp on them because consistency is key here:

  1. Find a peaceful place where you undisturbed by outside distractions.
  2. Sit comfortably with good posture , cross-legged maybe using cushion support .
  3. Get comfortable keeping your eyes closed and breathe slowly.
    4.Starting with deep intentional breaths.
5.Visualize the corresponding color while meditating upon each chakra.
6.Speak out loud (or in your head)- personal affirmations that correspond with the different chakras.

As you breathe focus on imagining a solid pillar extending down from under you reaching into ground below . As mentioned earlier connect yourself with Earth and feel rooted .
