How the body ages?

Aging – the gradual process of getting older, creakier, and overall less juicy. Nobody likes to think about it, but it’s a natural part of life. Unfortunately, as we age, our bodies change in ways that aren’t always delightful.

But have no fear! This article will break down aging into bite-sized chunks for you – with some jokes thrown in because who says learning can’t be FUN?

Gray Hair: It’s Not Just a Hair Color Anymore

You may have noticed your hair slowly changing color over time. While some people like the silver fox look (looking at you Clooney), others would prefer not to rock the Cruella Deville vibe. But why does this happen?

When we’re young and spry (ahh, those were the days), our hair follicles contain pigment cells that produce melanin which gives us our natural hair color. However, as we get older these pigment cells start to die off like an audience during a terrible stand-up comedy routine leaving behind unpigmented or white hairs.

Wrinkles: The Sign of A Life Well Lived

Who doesn’t love waking up and seeing their face mirroring what grandma’s prune looks like? Ain’t wrinkles grand!? OKAY maybe not so much however as we age(cough.. cough, 30 years old) wrinkles & fine lines are one gift that keeps on giving.

So how do these pesky signs of childhood loss form? As per usual blame goes toward good ol’ biology—the skin naturally loses its elasticity (sorta like when your parents divorced) leading to sagging e.g jowls aka turkey necks( I hope y’all haven’t indulged too much). Sun damage also plays its part degrading collagen formation within skin causing shallow furrows and deep crevices(like discount hikes minus the views).

Let’s Talk About Joints, Baby!

As we age like fine wine or a well-crafted whiskey joints tend to stiffen making movement difficult (do you know there is a scientific term for this known as arthrosis? Yea, neither did I). Cartilage begins to wear down exposing bone surfaces leading to discomfort and even pain. Not only that but too many nights watching series of “Friends” on your couch leads muscles on degradation (oops!!) putting extra stress on your weight-bearing joints.

But hey at least it’s an excuse not to play rugby again right? (just because all the cool kids do it doesn’t mean you should, Pshh)

Superheroes Struggle with Age – Even Doctors

Hey, ever wondered why it seems like wise old doctors have figured out how NOT TO AGE?! They haven’t…although they might be sporting some dodgy hairstyles & fashion choices that could make Kanye West look practical.

But seriously ageing affects us all including these superheroes in lab coats. As we age our organs which are responsible for keeping things running smoothly especially important ones: heart, liver & kidneys begin losing functionality(you can forget racing Usain Bolt now). This alongside other factors such as hormones makes chronic health disease much more common amongst older populations such as hypertension which puts patients at high risk of cardio failure.(nerdy terminology aside = basically incredibly complicated bodily things go wrong…got It!)

The Wrapping-Up End bit:

In conclusion aging is no fun really—we often feel less attractive less mobile and let’s talk about those hangovers after 25! However enjoying life always trumps worrying about every wrinkle and ache here or there so keep pushing forward

Stay young (& sarcastic)!
