How often should you drink alcohol?

Alright, let’s talk about alcohol. Whether you’re a seasoned drinker, or just starting out on your journey to becoming a professional blackout artist – everyone has different opinions on how frequently one should indulge in the sweet nectar of the gods. So, how often should you drink alcohol?

Well, buckle up and grab yourself a cold one (or don’t if you’re still at work), because we’re about to dive headfirst into this boozy dilemma.

Fact: We All Need A Break

Now, let’s get some serious business out of the way first. Drinking too much is bad for our health, and nobody wants that big ol’ beer belly hanging around. Of course, moderation is key here folks! But what does that look like exactly? According to medical experts (blah blah blah), men shouldn’t consume more than two drinks per day while women shouldn’t exceed one drink daily (as if that’s gonna stop any of us…)

But what if we decide not to abide by these rules? What then?

The Consequences Of Binge-Drinking

Ah yes, now here comes the fun part – talking about those dreaded nights where things can go quite sideways after having far too many shots fired down our throats: binge-drinking! Not only does it ‘temporarily’ make us feel invincible (we’ve all been there), but there are also some pretty worrying long-term consequences as well such as:

  • Increased risk of heart attacks
  • Alcohol poisoning
  • Liver disease
    Hair loss

Yes folks. Hair loss is indeed another consequence(??) of going hard during drinking sessions (told ya I’d use uncommon terminology throughout). Our bodies need time (and admittedly copious amounts of water) after tipping back bottle upon bottle lest we wake up mentally dissociated from reality with hair loss being the least of our worries.

Some Tips On How To Imbibe Safely

Excuse me for the momentary seriousness in that last paragraph. Let’s get back to what we’re all wondering: how often should you drink alcohol? Well, besides following those boring old health guidelines provided by medical professionals (because who needs them anyway), here are some extra tips on imbibing safely:

Rule Number One: Know Your Limits

This seems like pretty obvious advice but it never hurts to have a reminder (I’m looking at you, Karen). Only drink until you’re feeling relaxed without losing control over your senses. If you start slurring your words or swaying around like palm trees during monsoon season then it’s time to call it a day.

Rule Number Two: Drink Water!

Hydration is important! Especially when boozin’. Make sure that for every alcoholic beverage consumed another glass of water is drunk down too (gotta give my liver some side dish while consuming The Main Course – vodka cranberry).

Rule Number Three: Be Careful When Mixing Drinks

Remember how fun Long Island Iced Teas used to be until they turned into weird chemical experiments after mixing with champagne\Sometimes there can already be high alcohol content certain drinks which add up quickly leading towards an unexpected blackout scenario faster than anticipated!

Alright so now that we’ve got these ground rules established–let’s circle back & answer whether one should tipple multiple times in a week?

Here’s the tea: there is no golden rule when it comes to drinking as everyone handles their liquor differently… But if I had to say something definitive (which isn’t recommended) then drinking once or twice a week won’t do much harm, especially if done within limits i.e two/three cocktails! Just remember not let booze turn into foe causing piles of regrettable memories. And always remember to drink plenty of water and space between sips. Cheers, folks 🍸🍻!
