It’s not uncommon to feel down about yourself from time to time. With all the pressure society places on us, it can be hard to maintain a positive self-image. But fear not! There are simple steps you can take today to start feeling good about yourself again.

Acknowledge Your Feelings

Before embarking on any kind of journey towards self-improvement, it’s important to recognize and acknowledge how you’re feeling right now. It might be uncomfortable or difficult but try writing out your feelings in a journal, talking with friends or family, or seeing a therapist. Don’t bottle everything up inside because as they say: “the only thing worse than emotions running high is bottling them up like cheap wine.”

Make Changes That Matter To You

The secret here is that “change” doesn’t inherently mean moving mountains; rather small changes add up over time for an inevitable boost in confidence levels. This means breaking repetitive patterns which make your life predictable and exhausting so much such that even Netflix calls out asking if you’re still there – the audacity! Small shifts like changing outfits more often than regurgitating those same 4 combos week after week cough breathing air into my closet cough , taking walk outside when possible (social distancing of course), finding new books/shows/podcasts/activities you enjoy bonus points if its something educational, cooking food at home instead of ordering…basically anything that contributes positively to your day-to-day is worth considering.

Create A Routine

Routine may seem tedious but having one gives structure & predictability which then grants more space for excitement and spontaneity – feels contradictory right? However routine will slowly chip away at the chaos since tasks become second-nature making them easier/quicker hence freeing up energy/resources for other aspects beyond just getting by .Plus who doesn’t love checking off items from their to do list? finally I got the laundry done woot

Eat, Sleep & Move Better

Physiological factors will always play a role in how you feel about yourself so make sure its working with~and not against!_ ya. Seriously clean up your diet; more than likely this quarantine period’s definition of mealtime is either binging through 4 different takeout menus or going out to buy anything that has over 500 calories… thats just bad math folks. Consulting with a registered dietician can be eye-opening on what goes into healthy meals/snacks and by default assist in avoiding any unfavorable feelings generated from poor choices which may lead down a negative spiral.
