Does music help you sleep at night?

Are you one of the many people who struggle to fall asleep at night? Do you lay in bed staring at the ceiling counting sheep, but still find yourself wide awake? Fear not my friend because I have a solution that might just change your life. Music is an age-old remedy for those suffering from insomnia, anxiety or any other sleep disorder.

The Science Behind Music and Sleep

According to scientists, music has a calming effect on the mind and body. It slows down our heart rate and breathing, which in turn relaxes our muscles leading to feelings of tranquility. Our brainwaves are also affected by music as it helps synchronize them with the beat of the song we’re listening to.

There was a study conducted that had participants listen to soft instrumental songs before going to bed every night; 45 minutes after doing this for three weeks they claimed sleeping better than ever before! The test group showed increased melatonin levels compared with their pre-test scores too! This hormone is well-known for its ability to regulate one’s circadian rhythm- something folks struggling with insomnia may be looking for!

However…

While some studies show evidence supporting this theory– others suggest otherwise… Strange right?! Some say ^soft background sounds help enhance memory and learning during REM sleep-which could possibly make us more alert come morning<<>>. BUT if loud enough /fast-paced tunes are listened too late-or after falling asleep alone-they can hinder peaceful rest & even cause nightmares!! Yikes!

Another thing debated among researchers concerns age.

Children seem less likely (than adults) influenced by ‘sleep melodies’. In fact some experts feel quiet wind-down time creates anxiety where relaxing conversation might benefit lil ears more-so-parents beware!!

Moving into adult phase->large variances exist regarding what style/genre works best:: some argue soothing classical/symphony numbers do job right while others love hardcore techno-infused sounds…. Hmmm What do ya think?

With all this being said, so long as the tunes you choose aren’t too noisy or fast-paced (and never forget those headphones 😉) they could provide a huge assistance toward helping start dreamland experience!

How to Incorporate Music into Your Bedtime Routine

So how exactly can you incorporate music into your bedtime routine? Here are some tips that might just help.

1. Create a Playlist

Compile a playlist with songs that have calming melodies and slow tempos. Make sure the duration of the playlist is enough to last through the night – no one wants to wake up in silence at 2 am! Pick comfortable genres like jazz, R&B, classical, or acoustic music- <3

Song Artist
“Nuvole Bianche” Ludovico Einaudi
“Moonlight Sonata” Ludwig van Beethoven
“Nocturne in E Flat Major Op.9 No.2” Frederic Chopin

2. Use Headphones

Headphones will ensure that any outside noise won’t interfere with your sleep and you won’t disturb anyone else nearby! It also eliminates the risk of untimely interruptions from pesky Ad’s!!!

3.Setting Time Limits

Allow about an hour before going to bed for soak-up-time but then aim on relaxation gently fading offzzz ~20 minutes later<<>>>. When snooze first begins-to keep timer calm-skedaddle-turned down low so brainwaves go more naturally drift awayyyy~

 You’ll figure it out B-)

4.Consult Doctor Prior

Like most other medical practices&&; consult doctor prior especially if taking specific medicines-&=therefore unsure:/ Additionally&=& many insomniac individuals simultaneously suffer from health conditions (including ones-pertain-heart-rate) which could put a downer on this music therapy.

5. Persistence is Key

Finally, the most important tip of all- be persistent! Like many other things that provide health benefits, incorporating music into your sleep routine requires time and patience to show results.

Music Can Be a Lifeline

With so much going on in our lives, it’s hard enough to get quality sleep as it is-so if something possible provides peace & tranquility at night–it’s worth trying anything once!!!! Many musicians agree!!!!! To conclude let me <3 quote the late great writer Victor Hugo: “Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to remain silent” ~~zzz~~zzzZZZ # Keep Calm And Snooze On !
