Does airborne help sore throat?

You wake up with a sore throat, and the first thing that crosses your mind is reaching for something to make it go away. There are countless options out there, from lozenges to honey, from tea to gargling salt water… but have you ever considered airborne? That fizzy immune booster that promises to ward off colds and flu? But the big question on everyone’s lips (pun intended) is whether airborne helps sore throats. So let’s explore this issue and see if we can get some clarity.

What Is Airborne?

Airborne is a vitamin supplement that comes in several different forms: tablets, gummies, powders – but most commonly as an effervescent tablet you drop into water. It contains vitamins A,C,E along with minerals such as zinc which are purportedly essential for our immune systems’ health. As an aside; Isn’t it remarkable how much we care about those letters A, C & E?! The great mystery though; what do they actually do?!

But does taking airborne really help when experiencing a sore throat? Well before answering this pertinent question let us understand..

Why Do We Get Sore Throats?

Sore throats can be caused by many things; bacterial infections such as strep throat or just viruses like common cold or flu/ Or even worse, allergies! Yay tears of joy.
Other causes include excessive talking (watch out my fellow chatty classmates), yelling etc., irritants like cigarette smoke , dust/smog and snoring1. We cannot control all these factors so isn’t prevention better than cure;

This leads us onto…

How Can You Prevent Getting A Sore Throat?

They say creation always follows destruction- Let’s wreck all chances at getting a discomforting ache in our throats..Listen up folks cause here are some prevention tips;

  • Avoid smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke.
  • Drink plenty of fluids, especially warm beverages.
  • Practice good oral hygiene – brush twice a day .
  • Gargle salt water (yes that old granny’s trick…)
  • Air filters – if the smog level is higher in your area (?)

Why take care of sore throat? you ask?
Trust me, one ‘throat issue’ and you’ll be begging for help. You don’t want to lose the comfort ability of eating, laughing excessively or experience pain when talking or swallowing food even water, DO YOU?! Speaking from personal painful experiences,

But coming back on track.. does airborne come into play here?

Will Airborne Cure A Sore Throat?

A quick internet search would suggest yes! But we must probe further…

There has been no research specifically focused on how effective it may be at treating sore throats 2 . And let’s put things straight blowing bubbles has never actually cured anything!? Simply relying solely upon effervescence-tablets can lead us no where.

However, people who swear by the use of airborne mention taking it during colds/flu as well so lets delve into that;

Does Airborne Help During Cold-Fever?

Airborne fans claim claims that taking it regularly helps build your immune system which means fewer chances falling prey to infections such as cold & flu , but I’m still waiting on those letters A,C, E explaining what they really do!

The jury from ‘what feels like most litigations in sitcom-history’ might out though!

So far there is evidence suggesting vitamins C and E having antioxidant effects which help prevent cell damage/deterioration3. While zinc boosts our immune response. Whether the combination truly works against catching a fever being studied But regardless,

Just look at that name-they intentionally call it ‘Airborne’ implying you will “stay above the game” and not fall prey to any airborne particle/disease?

What about Doctors? Would They recommend Airborne?

When a journalist from New York Times quizzed Dr.Julie Kinn, director of infectious diseases at MedStar Washington Hospital Center’s Children’s National Medical Center in 2013 She replied with ““I don’t know if there are reputable studies showing that this airborne product works,” .

Makes sense considering current early litigations, Even vitamin supplements should be treated cautiously because taking more than one type can lead to toxicity [^4]. Quite alarming right?!

But Do avid health enthusiasts listen??-NOPE.

We, as youth(?) still need concrete proof from legit sources clears throat CDC/Cochrane/AMA. But when has something being unknown stopped us… flips hair

Now I’m singling out people who fancy natural remedies; Now let’s see what they have to say,

Natural Remedies suggested for Sore Throats

These are some well renowned troubleshooters..Most likely available in your very own kitchen:

-Ginger & Honey Tea
-Turmeric Powder mixed with warm milk
-Herbal teas (such as peppermint)
-Lemon Juice + Honey Water[^5]

Some additional ideas include marshmallow root tea/slippery elm bark lozenges/baking soda gargles-courtesy grandma.

If preventing isn’t working out we always have options other than blaming the immune team.

That might seem like a sarcastic attempt on our part but seriously sometimes medications/drugs can prove necessary! Considering all these ‘armors'(effervescents,[some]natural remedies) may help boost our immunity levels slightly but before trusting blindly you should definitely speak with your doctor/team experts since certain symptoms may actually require treatment EG: strep throat requires antibiotics making taking Airborne futile3.

So What’s The Final Verdict?

In conclusion, if you’re experiencing a sore throat, it’s best to focus on prevention and natural remedies as the primary course of action. While airborne has its loyalists& does contain vitamins that are beneficial for our immune system but there is no concrete scientific evidence proving their efficacy Specifically against sore throats.

One notable point – everyone’s body differ which means not every solution will work/fit perfect fir your personal style. Hence why-“Nothing fits all”.

So keep in mind that some people might feel relieved by using these tablets however studies at this time being conducted dubiously.
As young people full of energy we should definitely take care beforehand , WASH YOUR HANDS (psst after reading too), don’t touch your face frequently & watch out for any early symptom despite the current global scenario,
