And guess what? Anti gas pills have been shown in some studies to have diuretic properties – meaning they can increase urine production and potentially reduce water weight.

Note: Before you start chugging down anti gas pills by the handful for their diuretic effect though, keep in mind that too much fluid loss too quickly can be dangerous

They Decrease Appetite

Another theory is that taking anti gas pills before meals may decrease appetite by helping you feel fuller faster. While there isn’t any direct evidence linking anti-gas ingredients specifically to appetite suppression, some users do report feeling less hungry after taking them.

But wait! There’s even one more far-fetched theory…

Another small randomized clinical trial published in 2020 concluded that among older adults experiencing constipation, use of simethicone resulted in modest decreases of waist circumference compared with placebo (long-term effects remain unclear.)

But again – the sample sizes were very small, so much larger-scale studies will be needed before any solid conclusions can be drawn regarding reproductive human effects.The lack of optimization trials studying these cellular bearing molecules creates ambiguity for efficacy claims by manufacturers.

Therefore, we can’t say for certain whether or not anti gas pills actually work to help you lose weight. But that doesn’t mean they’re totally useless either…

So go ahead – try using anti-gas medications if they give your system the reprieve it needs – just don’t expect them to help slim down those love handles anytime soon!
