Here are some tips on how you can discover joy and find the good in every day.

Start Your Day Off Right

The way you start your day sets the tone for everything that follows. If you wake up grumpy, then everything else is going to feel like a chore. Instead, try starting your morning with an activity that makes you happy or relaxed. Some people try meditation while others prefer light yoga or getting outside for a walk.

– Listening to favorite podcast
– Taking time out before meetings

Look Around You

Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in our own heads and forget about what’s happening around us. But if we take time to focus on what’s happening right now, we might just see something beautiful or funny that brings us joy.

Take moments during works breaks/outside walks/day-to-day activities when we’re likely not needing/demanding so much energy from ourselves mentally/physically – this will help increase productivity!

Connect with Others

Connecting with others helps combat feelings of loneliness which could eventually lead towards depression/anxiety/even personality disorders later down life’s journey thus making sure everyone within their sphere of influence have good emotional well-being should always be prioritised.. It’s important for our happiness and wellbeing needs! Studies show connection increases gratitude/happiness:

A friendly smile towards colleagues/friends/people whilst walking around office/building area may seem simple/small things but has great impact! So next time give someone a simple compliment, other than them appreciating it, see how you feel afterwards – the happy feeling will probably stay around for much of the day.

Practice Gratitude

Often times we’re so fixated on what’s going wrong in our lives that we forget about all the good things. Practicing gratitude means intentionally focusing on everything we have to be thankful for. This could mean starting a gratitude journal where each evening or morning one thinks/say five things they are grateful for – no matter how small!

Example: I’m grateful
– For water today
– My bed supporting me well as I slept last night
– A productive work day
– An upcoming vacation planned with family

Although it might take time to adjust getting into this simple habit over time-, but gradually if implemented correctly can greatly improve outlook and overall attitude towards life.

Do Something You Love

Doing something you love is one of the easiest ways to find joy in every day. Maybe reading, playing music, writing poetry, painting or any other activity sparks happiness within? Taking out some minutes/hours daily\/weekly basis/whilst travelling commuting even / makes sure ensure that there continues being small joys everywhere!

Try doing creative outlets such as:
Painting
Music creation (singing/instrument)
Sleep
Exercise

We know they say “do whatever your heart desires” but sleep is usually underrated when compared to exercise regularly done by many people due to constant reminder from an array of media sources/individuals encouraging us constantly.
So why sleeping then?
It has great therapeutic effects when done properly according Mayo Clinic:

Laugh

Last but certainly not least, we must never forget to laugh! Laughter is good for the soul and has many health benefits such as reducing stress hormones in our bodies. Even if it seems like nothing is going right, find something funny or watch a comedy show/movie until one’s cheeks hurt with laughter then that’s an indication joy will start feeling like returning.

Great sources of laughs can be found through:
Stand-up comedy shows
Comedy series/movies
Avoiding self deprecating humor (that could have much more negative outcomes than what were anticipated)

Doing this simple task at intervals during day maybe morning/evenings/free moments throughout the day helps keep positivity up and reduce anxiety/stress levels which often heighten when any negativity starts building up both mentally/emotionally.
