Can you shower with fake tan on?

Let’s face it, we all want to look like bronzed goddesses without exposing ourselves to harmful UV rays. That’s why we turn to the magic of fake tan. But what happens when it’s time for a shower? Can you leave that glorious golden glow intact? Well, hold onto your loofahs ladies and gents because I’m about to answer that very question!

To Shower or not To Shower: The Great Debate

There seems to be some confusion surrounding the idea of showering with fake tan on. Some say yes, some say no, leaving us wondering who to trust. Well folks, I’m here today to debunk those myths once and for all.

Don’t Believe Everything You Hear

Like any urban legend or old wives’ tale – there are plenty of misconceptions out there regarding fake tans and showers. Some popular beliefs include:

  • “If you wash off your fake tan too soon after applying it will come off”
  • “You should never shower after applying a self-tanning lotion”
  • “Fake tans don’t last long enough”

First off, let me set the record straight. All three of these so-called ‘facts’ are false (with some caveats). So put away those baby wipes and listen up!

Scrub-a-Dub-Doubt Your Doubts Away!

The truth is actually somewhat simple: Yes you can shower with most types of self-tanner on – provided you follow certain guidelines before diving under those warm jets.

Step One: Timing is Everything

One key factor in determining if you can hop into your favorite bath/spa puzzle/toilet –aka bathtub–or whether you should wait until next week (and settle with bad smell) is timing.

Before bathing or swimming Here’s something crucial that many people overlook while eagerly jumping into pools and hot tubs: hold off on any kind of water activity for at least 8 hours after using a self-tanner. I know this can be annoying, but listen up! If you go swimming or take a bath straightaway your fake tan is going to act like it meets the Korean Marines training and will wash down the drain faster than you can scream “I paid how much for this?!” So instead, give those tanning products enough time to settle onto your skin before getting wet.

Step Two: It’s all in the prep

To keep some colour and improve chances of longevity in shower usage There are certain things you must do before entering that shower stall: Firstly exfoliate – yeah you heard me right, scrub-a-dub-dub gets rid of last week’s dead skin cells; this move should be done preferably 24hours prior to application. Exfoliation smoothens out bumps and helps create an even canvas for a better tan coverage with fewer streaking issues (oh yes – because we lovvvee wrinkle-like stripes across our bodies!). Pay special attention to dry spots such as elbows, knees, ankles etc which have been proven trouble areas when interacting with self-disclosure solutions.

Don’t touch it – At Least Not Yet

If you think rinsing off just moments after applying is gonna make your tan come out crispier then deep-fried chicken from KFC (okay maybe not that crispy) let me inform ya otherwise babe! In order to prevent any unwanted early departures of fake browness from various parts of our body we want everything soaked into our skin first. so wait at least 2-3 hours until completely dry by avoiding sweating or coming into contact with anything too tight fitting fabrics since they may smear or cause dark stains behind ears hairline eyebrows men facial hair fingers ends under socks anything really)

Sit back relax & enjoy!

By taking the necessary steps and precautions, showering with fake tan shouldn’t ruin your sun-kissed look. It can even prolong it! Not to mention you’ll feel fresh as a daisy after scrubbing off all that dead skin prior- sorry I know I said this already now bite me!

So my beauties, don’t fear the shower – embrace it! You’re sure to keep looking like a bronzed god/goddess for days to come – or at least until your first deodorant swipe or runs (I mean c’mon, we still have real life constraints). Happy self-tanning/showering everyone 😉
