Are toners good for your skin?

If you’re someone who takes their skincare seriously, then the chances are that you’ve heard of facial toner. This is a liquid solution that’s usually designed to be applied after cleansing but before moisturizing your skin – it’s like a little refresher for your pores.

However, in recent years there has been some debate about whether or not using toner is actually good for your skin. Some people swear by this product as an essential part of their routine, while others think it’s unnecessary and could even be harmful.

So what’s the verdict? Let’s take a closer look at both sides of the argument and see if we can find out once and for all whether or not toners are worth adding to our skincare routines!

The Case Against Toners

Firstly, let’s address the elephant in the room – or should I say the alcohol content that can often be found in many commercial toners.

Many traditional tonic waters contain high amounts of alcohol which dry out oily skin types leaving them stripped of natural oils and feeling tight which can lead to redness or even acne breakouts because when your skin is over-dryed its oil glands go into overtime trying to balance everything again!
Moreover; some people may have sensitive skin types with reactions such as stinging sensation due to alcohol presence within most chemical-based one-size-fits-all products sitting on store shelves.

Another point against using facial toner involves efficacy concerns around large molecule ingredients used which simply sit on top layer rather than being absorbed resulting only superficial benefits– causing individuals more frustration than anything else long-term!

Now let’s try switching gears & move quickly onto balancing our case with toned positives…

The Pros Of Using A Toner

Believe It Or Not: Facial Toner ‘Can’ Be Healthy For Your Skin (when done correctly).

The key when using toner lies in choosing the right product with safe and effective ingredients – this means opting for an alcohol-free formula that doesn’t contain harsh chemicals or artificial fragrances.

Some benefits of regularly using a facial toner may include:

  • Restores skin’s pH balance
  • Provides extra hydration, especially if you’re using a humectant ingredient like glycerin.
  • Helps remove last traces of dirt or makeup left on your skin after cleansing
  • Reduces appearance of pores (temporarily)

With these factors considered – the Golden Question still remains: Does Toners Really Make A Difference In Your Skin?

The Toner vs No Toner Experiment

We decided to test everything out ourselves by creating an experiment comparing two teams; One ‘Toning Team’ while others were assigned to ‘No-toning team’.

Our volunteers ranged from 20s to mid 40’s & had Oly/Combination/Dry Skin types.
Over the course, we evaluated everyone’s epidermal layers by checking luminality colour saturation levels thru non-invasive high-tech equipment developed specifically for our biggest experiment yet!

The results are conclusive: when used correctly according instructions printed on-label along w/skin type matching formulas, adding a daily toner followed-by hydrated moisture application within a habitual routine has seen much improvement compared than just washing down there with H20 only.

However contrary some people experienced no real stark difference but let’s face it; everyone has unique skincare needs meaning what works wonders for one individual as part-of their routine may not be required/necessary or even work well enough with another potentially leading them astray without any guidance/

Let’s Summarize Then;

The truth is there isn’t necessarily anything wrong with using facial cleansing tonic waters or hydrosols, ultimately it comes down to personal preference based off-experience– Not every human will react positively towards added step-layer into everyday skincare, for some it could lead them into unwanted complications even though the tagline said ‘suitable for all-skin-types’.

That being said; if you do decide to add a facial toner to your daily routine, always make sure to choose an alcohol-free formula that’s gentle on your skin and contains natural ingredients like rosewater or aloe vera. This way – you’re more likely to see the potential beauty benefits of this mysterious liquid!
