Are there condoms for girls?

Oh, the good old American education system never ceases to amaze us. They teach you algebra and geometry but somehow skipped over sex-ed. It’s almost like they want you to learn it through trial and error. Facepalm.

Anyways, we’ve heard this question countless times – “Are there condoms for girls?” In a word? Yes! And let us explain in more than just one word because apparently some people need it spelled out for them.

What are female condoms?

Yes, yes, we know what your confused little mind is thinking – female what?? But hear us out. Female condoms have been around since the 1980s and were specifically designed with women in mind (unlike traditional male condoms).

A female condom is a pouch that goes inside the vagina before intercourse. “Wait, so I’m supposed to put something up there?” We can feel the cringing from here, but don’t worry folks – it’s actually pretty simple! All you gotta do is insert it just like a tampon reaching all the way back until your finger touches your cervix.

Okay great…but how does it work exactly?

Well dear reader…

  • The pouch lines up with the vaginal walls to create a barrier between potential sperm and egg.
  • There’s an inner ring that helps anchor everything in place while an outer ring sits outside of the vagina.
  • Once ejaculation occurs (hey-o!), carefully remove by twisting both rings together before tossing it away.

Overall not too different from ‘traditional’ protection options!

Advantages of using female condoms

We could sing praises about these underrated birth control options but instead we’ll just list em’

1️⃣ Female Condoms give Women Control

There’s no denying its hard enough being a woman already right? So why shouldn’t women be able to control their own contraception? Female Condoms are a great option because there’s complete autonomy.

2️⃣ Can Reduce STI Transmission

While nothing is truly 100% effective, female condoms still provide greater protection than no or other less-suitable methods. Safe sex for the win!

3️⃣ No Allergies Here

Some women have allergies to latex (say hello to awkward medical visits) but luckily female condoms come in polyurethane versions that work just as well.

Plus hey- it never hurts to switch things up every now and then 😉

Enough about females…what about males?

We appreciate inclusivity- so let’s talk “male” options while we’re here shall we? Of course, one of the most popular choices being the normal dude-condom. But don’t forgot male birth control pills, injections and even vasectomies!

“Did someone say vasectomy?” Take a deep breath champ – it’s not as bad as you think: “Snip-Snip” equals more Netflix & Chill time without any unexpected cuts into peak Stranger Things streaming time Phew crisis averted.

Where can I get them?

Great news! There are plenty of places where you can go get your hands on them:

Local Drugstores – Standard chains like Walgreens or CVS should stock some.

Online Purchases/Shipments – You may prefer online shopping for anything from shoes to food deliveries…add Female Condoms to your list!

Clinics -They often offer free contraception supplies for those who need it.

Take note: They’re ours so please respect our ownership over said products until they are fully used O_O #YesAllCondoms

Remember folks – safe sex doesn’t equal no fun allowed 🙂 Whether traditional or femme style….cheers to staying protected 🥂
