More on Madison Zombie Lurch: photos, video and links

IMG_0250.JPGUPDATE Now featuring video!

Early last Monday Dane101 was one of the first to notify you of the impending zombie invasion. The report came thanks to a tip by local zombie blogger Madolan who caught wind of the hordes impending descent on the city. While some local papers did pick up on the coming attack city officials were slow to react, preoccupied with trying to decide how to fend off a onslaught of live hordes on Halloween.

Thankfully, there were only about 200 casualities on Saturday and the lurching mob was eventually defeated by beer at the Memorial Union Terrace before they could reach Camp Randall and feast on happy football fans.

What we learned Saturday is that Madison, much like Pittsburgh as reported in this weeks Onion, is woefully unprepared for a zombie attack. This time we were lucky they were only seeking equal rights to eat brains, next time they may actually eat your brains. As hell continues to fill up we need to be prepared for more attacks.

Here is a link to some more information on zombies in general, followed by photos and a video from Saturday:

Find the Zombie Survival Guide here.

Know your Zombie types! There is a wide range of zombies out there and it is helpful to know the ones you are facing off against. Madison seemed to have been invaded by a blend of the Romero-class and brain-eating O'Bannon-class. Here is a great essay on "How to Find the Right Zombie for you."

Finally, in case your house is surrounded by zombies, you are out of bullets (always keep one for yourself) and you have no way out - make sure you are at least stocked up on alcohol. Here is an article on the history of the Zombie drink.

Of course, Zomploitation is the best resource for all things Madison Zombie related, complete with links to other blogs featuring the attack. Also check out this great photo gallery of what happens when protesting zombies meet Christian evangelicals.

Thanks to Jeremy Strandberg for these photos and video. The video is only eight seconds long. Right click and save as to download the video in either mpg or avi.
