Last Wednesday night I stopped by The Workshop (the recording studio on the corner of Johnson Street/North Street) to interview Shinky and the rest of the Shazy Hade gang (Eric Geving, Eric Hartz, Dave Hunt, Mark Sinnott), about their upcoming show with The Black Diamond Heavies and Ron Franklin. After about 10 minutes, one local music veteran after another stopped by unexpectedly to talk. The audio below is a 25 minute edited podcast including interviews with:

This just in (hence the reason it isn't with the rest of the Madison area music notes for the week). The Buffali are the latest Madison act to launch a podcast. They call it "The 1st Annual Buffcast Podzine!!!" This Buffcast from Madison's favorite quirk-pop duo wins the award for most adorable podcast theme song of the year. It will also help Madison fans cope as the duo continue to tour, record demos for a new album, and pursue the bright lights of the big city.

In this first edition Andrew interviews his band mate Claire about their band, we hear a live version of "Frustration," a new track called "Mostly Over You" from their demo, an oldie Buffali song "Sorry I Drank Your Whiskey," a story about Scott's Folkatorium in Akron, Ohio, and a pirate joke.
