Mad Rollin' for the Holidays: TannenBOMBS! vs. Dreaded Dreidels
Post by Jesse Russell on 12/7/2009 2:58pm
Do you long for the days of roller derby when it was less about athleticism and rules and more about the flash and spectacle of hellions on wheels knocking each other over? If that's the case, than the Mad Rollin' Dolls' fourth annual Ho Bout is tailored especially for you. Every year around this time, as the Dolls are in the heat of training for the season which kicks off in late January, they take one night for holiday revelry and shenanigans. Just as in year's past the four home teams you know and love will merge into two super holiday teams: The TannenBOMBS! and the Dreaded Dreidels.
To make the event extra special for long time fans the Dolls will be strapping on their skates at Fast Forward Skate Center on Verona Road - the rink that started it all. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12 (doors at 6 p.m.). For more on what you can expect of the Ho Bout check out our articles from 2006 and 2007. There will be an after party at Plan B on Willy Street following the bout.
The new season will start on January 23 at the Alliant Energy Center. Below is the schedule:
