Sponsorship

dane101 has been a part of the greater Madison media landscape since 2005, providing locally based, independent, investigative coverage of the news, politics, arts and culture that shape our state. We also regularly organize concerts, variety/vaudeville shows, and other events like scavenger hunts and poetry readings at venues all around Madison. We began as a collaborative blog, but our relevance increased dramatically during the large-scale protests at the Wisconsin state Capitol in 2011 when we had credentialed journalists covering the activity on the ground.

We’ve also become established as one of the most professional and fun event promoters in the Midwest, both with artists and attendees. We believe strongly in supporting our local artists and organizations through these event partnerships, and they provide a great opportunity for other related businesses to do the same through a new sponsorship program we launched this year.

dane101 has sold out the High Noon Saloon on Saturday of Halloween weekend every year since 2008. Now expanded to a two night event, Freakin' Halloweekend features ten Madison bands playing - and dressing - as some of their and our favorite slightly more famous bands. This event has been running since 2007 (two nights since 2009) and is held, as you would guess, Friday and Saturday of Halloween Weekend.

After Whedonesque Burlesque (Frequency, Feb 2011) sold out in 34 hours, we knew we were on to something. Never ones to shy away from giving an audience what it wants, dane101 has become the premier promoter of geek themed burlesque in the Upper Midwest, following up the original event with Geekesque Burlesque (High Noon Saloon, Sep 2011) and Trek Wars (Inferno, May 2012). Hot on that event's heels, this year's Geekesque Burlesque (High Noon Saloon, Sep 2012) is sure to spark an annual event.

In partnership with the Broom Street Theater, dane101's Broom Street Sessions introduce audiences to local artists in intimate acoustic shows. This event has been running since 2011 and is held approximately once every six weeks at the Broom Street Theater and coincides with the opening of new shows at the Theater.

The Fire Ball Masquerade, Madison's most spectacular annual variety show and costume ball, is a surefire way to heat thing up in the middle of a Wisconsin winter. This event has been running since 2009 and is held in late January or early February.

If your organization is interested in partnering with dane101 on these or other events, contact us at sponsorship@dane101.com.
