WSUM announces Snake on the Lake line-up
If you are reading this, love music, and don't live in Madison, you may want to consider moving here, because the music in this city for September and October is...simply...wow...well, I'm at a loss for words, so let's just get into it.
In addition to shows featuring the Magnetic Fields, Broken Social Scene, the Walkmen, Okkervil River, and so many more, Madison will be featuring the SoCo Music Experience with The Roots and the Black Keys, the Forward Music Fest with Neko Case, Dan Deacon, Mason Jennings, and 50 plus other acts, and now this line-up from WSUM's Snake on the Lake 2008.
Snake on the Lake is an annual event that last year morphed out of Party on the Park. Essentially the party moved from the park to the UW Terrace on the lake and now you get to see amazing bands backed by a beautiful setting sun and sailboats. Not too shabby. Who will be headlining Snake on the Lake this year? None other than the category defying genius of instrumental rock indie rock super group Tortoise. Joining Tortoise will be elegant songsmith Damian Jurado, psych garage rock of Awesome Color, the "dark folk rock" of Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson, Madison's post-rock instrumentalists El Valiente, and the surf punk of The Pistols at Dawn. Snake on the Lake will be held September 27 on the Terrace. More details to come.

Nice.
