Les Breastfeeders versus the Protomen

[inline:1]"No one is left who can remember how it had happened, how the world had fallen under darkness... or at least anyone who could do anything about it. No one would oppose the robots, no one would challenge their power...or so Dr. Wiley had believed..."
That is how the story of Mega Man begins, and thus, that is how the story of The Protomen begins. According to my friend Allen, who is an expert in such things, the Protomen travel the world telling the story of Mega Man in the form of a rock opera and enlisting recruits to join the battle against Dr. Wiley and his robots. On Saturday they will bring that rock opera to the Frequency, costumes, stage show, and all. Sound completely geeky and awesome? Wait, the night gets even better.
It is hard to believe that this show could be any more interesting then it already sounds, but it is, oh, so much more interesting now that Les Breastfeeders have been added to the bill. This band from Montreal has grabbed onto the Mod mantra popularized in the 60s by the Who, Small Faces, and the Kinks and put a 21st Century spin on it without losing any of the swagger. They make their Madison debut on Friday at La Fête de Marquette at 5:30 p.m., but they are very much a band that needs to be seen in a dark room where the audience can be transported to a 60s underground bar in France. In the battle of Geeks versus Mods, who will win?
A video of Les Breastfeeders is below.
Opening it all up is Madison's Fermata.
