So who are these bands? Fleet Foxes: Many of you likely already know this band that pulled off what many deem nearly impossible in Madison, pack the High Noon for a 7 p.m. show (I believe on a Tuesday?). This quintet from Seattle plays a type of music called "transcendental rock" (whatever that means, Wyndham). I prefer to call it "oooo...pretty music." ExtraGolden: Of all of these bands ExtraGolden will hopefully play as the sunsets on the Terrace. Hailing from Nairobi ExtraGolden fuse together a warm blend of "Kenyan Benga music with American Rock." A Hawk and a Hacksaw: This band hails from Albuquerque and features Jeremy Barnes of Neutral Milk Hotel fame. On their MySpace plage the claim to be from Budapest, which makes sense because the music they channel has a distinctly Eastern European gypsy feel. Barnes also has a connection with the following band... Icy Demons: The bizarre free jazz cut with Elephant Six style rock of Icy Demons starts the night off. Icy Demons is a project of Bablicon's Griffin Rodriguez and Man Man's PowPow. Of course, as you all know Barnes was also a main player in Bablicon. Maybe they'll perform together?
