Madison to Bonnaroo in photos: Day 3
Here's Day 3 in photos of the Madison to Bonnaroo experience. Highlights include Iron & Wine's performance, crowd scenes, Sigur Ros's set, and Kanye West's glow-in-the-dark suck-at-sunrise debacle.
As previously noted, captions don't line up with their photos in this stylesheet, so we recommend turning off the stylesheet while viewing this post (go to View > Page Style > No Style or something like that, depending on your browser).

Waiting for Kanye: 3:02am - Chris, Jen, Mark, and Kevin mug before Kanye's set.

Waiting for Kanye: 3:08am - Shane hides in his hoodie while waiting for Kanye to begin.

Waiting for Kanye: 3:10am - Kanye fans get their glowing gear on in anticipation of his performance.

Waiting for Kanye: 3:15am - Boos rain down as this message displays on the main screens flanking the stage. Originally scheduled to perform on the Which Stage at 8:15pm, Kanye made festival organizers reschedule him for 2:45am on the main stage.

Waiting for Kanye: 3:32am - Kevin, Jen, Mark, and Chris joke about Kanye's glow-in-the-dark performance potentially having to compete with sunrise.

Kanye finally takes the stage at 4:27am. 20 minutes later, our jokes about glow-in-the-dark versus sunrise come true as the eastern sky lightens. Fans leave in droves, or sleep through Kanye's hackneyed space opera performance.

Kanye's glow-in-the-dark performance has become a full-on suck-at-sunrise debacle. Audience indifference and laughter at the absurdity of the entire situation mix with the constant stream of boos. Thankfully, it's over in under an hour.

Kanye...
Outstanding photos. I wish I coulda been there. And Kanye...it'll be interesting to see if he pulls the same thing when he's in Madison.
