Trying to bottle Splitlip Rayfield is the equivalent of trying to bottle lightning, because that is the way the band plays their bluegrass; fast and unapologetic. Even a year after losing Kirk Rundstrom the band plays with plenty of fuel and fire. They'll bring it to the High Noon tonight with the help of the Javelinas.

The Klinic has a line up of pure power when Flat Atom assembles with Witch Beulah, Future Ghost, The Mother Hive Syndicate, and Gabriel and the Apocalypse.

Madison's female fronted metal band The Ottoman Empire will assault the Annex all night long with the help of Mors Mortis Machinatio, Erebus and Through Terror.

Saturday

If you were one of the lucky many at Dane101's Halloween Rockin' Extravaganza then you came face to face with Sheena and the Punk Rockers. A female fronted Ramones cover band, this is their first show of this year and their last show of ever. At the Crystal Corner.

It is a rare treat when the Championship escapes from Milwaukee and visits us here in Madison. Saturday it is extra special as they help the Blueheels release their new album. At the Majestic.

The Midwest Beat have been hard at work on a new album so you are likely to hear some new tunes Saturday at an early Project Lodge show. The National Beekeepers Society lends a helping hand at 7:30 p.m.

What is the future of rock? Future Rock is the future of rock. In the alternate version of the film, this is the band Klaatu and Gort booked to play after the day the Earth stood still and all the humans decided to put down their weapons and party instead. The band is best known for working crowds into a frenzy at outdoor festivals, so the High Noon is sure to be a sweaty gyrating mass of sardined bodies all night long. They'll be joined by Dark Party.

Know Boundaries have become infamous around town for throwing one heckuva party. They bring their hip-hop/rock to the Annex with Gingerjake and Sophia's Revenge.
