Halloween in Madison 2006: Images from the Dane101 Kick-Off Party
Dane101 contributing photographer Mark Sadowski runs the website Pixelated Imagination. He attended the Dane101 Official Halloween Kick-off Party at the High Noon and snapped some pictures. The content below is syndicated from his site.
Wednesday night, Dane101 hosted a kickoff to the Halloween weekend at the High Noon Saloon. Check out today's second featured photo album for all the shots from the show.
DJ Siberia kept the night moving along with a mix of hardcore beats and some darker, more familiar pop favorites. Black Clouds came on first bringing with them a darker side to hip-hop. Cervello Elettronico, coming all the way from New York, was next doing some live electronic music. Their style was something between goa trance and hardcore proper. After their amazing set, WiSUC comedian, southern zombie Kendra Frank got up to make a few thank yous where they were due and give a heads up for the coming costume competition.
Before the costume competition, though, the crowd was treated to some nostaligia in the form of the Gothsicles, an industrial duo with an added visual bonus that paired perfectly with their set.
Then came the costume competition. Almost half of the people attending dressed up, but only about 13 were brave enough to be judged. The costumes were all great, but winners had to be chosen. A winner was quickly chosen in the skateboarding samurai, complete with a skateboard that looked like it was ripped off of a tank. The runners up were Velma from Scooby-Do, She-Ra Princess of Power, and a dark figure with a unique name I can't remember (sorry!) (ed. note: Sheesh! She was Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty!)
After the costume fun, Null Device came out to finish up the night with their synth pop stylings. The Gothsicles came back out to to a number with them.
