Wisconsin Film Fest 2006: Mongolian Ping Pong - the non-review, review

Arts | Festival | Film

mpp040206.jpgSadly, Mongolian Ping Pong is one of the four forbidden films. Along with "Iron Island," "Look Both Ways" and "Sir! no Sir!" distributors have asked the "press to HOLD reviews until after full theatrical release in your market."

I would really like to review the movie as it was easily my favorite film of the festival and I hope I wake up tomorrow to learn it took best picture. In the interest of helping the film festival maintain positive relations with the distributors in the future, Dane101 has chosen to abide by the rules and will hold our review until the film hits our screens properly.

That said, I would like to take a moment and express that in this era of blogging and instant reviews, such a rule seems rather silly.

"Mongolian Ping Pong" is a brilliant film and once it does debut to wider release, it should be a must see for anyone who missed it at the Wisconsin Film Festival. To learn more about the film, go here.
