halloweendane101.jpgWARNING: Shameless self-promotion below

Dane101 has just put the finishing touches on the biggest Halloween Party in Madison actually happening on Halloween (the Annex also has an awesome party happening that night and we won't hold it against you if some of you end up there, we love what Darwin has done with the place). Dane101's Rockin' Halloween Extravaganza also doubles as a food drive for Second Harvest as Madison prepares to roll into winter. Every attendee in costume is entered in the door prize drawing and every attendee that brings a canned good is entered a second time. All of the details below including a prize list, costume contests, the bands, the movies, and more! We start at 8 p.m. Full details below:

Beer Specials

Furthermore Beer has been kind enough to provide the beer specials for Wednesday night. If you have never had a Furthermore beer you can get a sneak peek on Friday afternoon at Cork and Bottle on East Johnson. Dane101 will also be randomly buying drinks for patrons as the night goes on.

The Contests and Prizes

The Costume Contests will be judged by the High Noon staff and the categories are thus:

1) Best Rock-n-Roll look-a-like (or any other music genre)
2) Most Inventive/Creative
3) Most Hilarious Cliche Costume (the various "sexy" costumes, etc.)
4) Best Impersonation of a Character From Movie/Book/TV Show

What can you win? The better question is what can't you win. We are up to our noses in prizes thanks to the following:

Capital Brewery: Free beer! That's right, the fine folks at Capital are letting us giveaway some six packs, t-shirts, hats, glasses and more. They will also be hosting their annual Halloween Scream on Saturday in the Beer Garden.

The Orpheum Theatre: The Orpheum was kind enough to provide a gift certificate that will cover at least a dinner for two plus dessert.

Glitter Workshop: The crafty folks at the Glitter Workshop have provided us with a gift basket filled with some great homemade products. Get a sneak peak by stopping by the workshop during the day on October 31 as they giveaway baskets in the store. Also, be sure to November 24 open for the annual High Noon Craftacular.

Four Star Video Heaven: Madison's best video store for everything beyond Hollywood has provided us with three prize packs. Consider our costume contest a precursor for their anniversary party at the High Noon on November 5 (where Dane101's Jesse Russell will be a costume judge).

Pop Deluxe: State Street's store for the quirky but classy is providing us with a bag of goodies for party goers!

Badger Cab: How cool is it that Badger Cab is going to give a lucky person a ride home for free. Drink 'em without a care in the world!

Sundance Cinemas: Madison's newest movie theatre is offering up some passes to some lucky party people. Maybe you can use them during the Sundance Documentary Film Festival running right here in town from November 2 through 8!

Flyin' Squirrel: Madison is a derby town and if you don't have the at least something from Flyin Squirrel then you aren't a real derby fan. Here is your chance!

Mad Rollin' Dolls: Speaking of derby, the Mad Rollin Dolls will be playing their last game of the year on December 15 (a.k.a. the Ho Bout). We will have a pair of passes to giveaway!

We also have plenty more including DVDs, Jones Soda, toys, candy...etc.

The Entertainment

This is it folks, the best Halloween line-up in the city. Not only do we have the High Noon debut of Zombie Comedian Angus Macabre, we have plenty of defunct bands resurrected for your pleasure. Order from first to last is below:

The Midwest Beat and Grizzlies Project: Velvet Underground
The Schabelles, Aunt Goodness, and Something To Do project: The Ramones
The Gomers project: The Zombeatles
The Astrozombies project: The Misfits
The Better Off Deads and Dorothy Heralds Project: Clash versus Madonna

Miscellany

We will also be projecting films on the wall, handing out candy, and possibly playing some games.

Say, do we still get tickets to the Halloween party for winning your Can trivia contest way back on September 4, as per this post?

Thanks!

Your name will be on the list at the door! No worries.
