Wisconsin has a strong showing at this year's Netroots Nation which is being held in Minneapolis, Minn. starting Wednesday. The Wisconsin focused panels and events include:
Thursday, 9 a.m.: "The Wisconsin 14, the Recall, and the Impact of National Organizing in Wisconsin."
The panel features Progressive Change Campaign Committee Co-Founder Adam Green, Wisconsin State Sen. Chris Larson, Democracy for America communications director Levana Layendecker, MoveOn.org Campaign Director Daniel Mintz, and Progressive Change Campaign Committee Campaigner Keauna Gregory.
Thursday, 4:30 p.m. "Bloggers Unite! How the Netroots Rallied in Wisconsin"
The panel features New Organizing Institute New Media Director Melissa Ryan, dane101 co-founder Jesse Russell, Blue Cheddar blogger bluecheddar, Uppity Wisconsin founder Steve Hanson, and AFSCME Legislative Field Specialist Blaine Rummel.
Thursday, 7:30 p.m.: Opening keynote address featuring former Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold. Also speaking will be Wis. State Senator Chris Larson, AFT President Randi Weingarten,Yemini blogger Afrah Nasser, and former Governor and DNC Chair Howard Dean.
Friday isn't as Wisconsin focused, but there will very likely be a #wiunion team at the Chairman's Pub Quiz.
Saturday, 9 a.m.: "The Attack on America’s Middle Class, and the Plan to Fight Back"
Wisconsin Education Association President Mary Bell will be the Wisconsin highlight on this panel. Other speakers include: Sen. Al Franken, AFSCME Secretary-Treasurer Lee Saunders, SEIU President Mary Kay Henry, UFCW President Joseph Hansen and economist Bob Kuttner.
On Sunday, all of the Netroots Nation attendees will head out into the community and indoctrinate children.
