Zimmerman Homicide: Media Updates April 4/12:30 p.m.

NoAccess.jpgThe police have issued a new incident report in the Brittany Zimmerman homicide case. They offer no description of who they may be seeking and write, "at this hour the MPD does not have a suspect, or suspects identified in the Zimmermann homicide. The Dane County Coroner has determined Brittany died from a ‘complexity of traumatic injuries.’" There seems to have been a flurry of reports of home invasions by an individual in the area near Zimmerman’s apartment on Wednesday morning. WISC and WMTV both have important details. I’ve been reluctant to link to WISC since they linked to Zimmerman’s MySpace profile, which I personally consider a deplorable invasion of the privacy of her friends and family and unnecessary for the narrative of this unfolding story (and I’m not the only one who feels this way). However, they have details at this hour that need to be pulled up and also don’t seem to have been reported elsewhere concerning the description of the home invader:

WISC writes:

Quote:
Holly Davis, a 21-year-old University of Wisconsin-Madison junior told WISC-TV reporter Linda Eggert that she has six roommates but all were gone just before 1 p.m. Wednesday when she said an intruder opened her front door, walked in and halfway up the stairs to her room.

Davis said that she didn't know she was home alone and said that she came out of her bedroom to find a "grungy" looking man. She said that intruder was white, appeared about 40 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, and was wearing a gray T-shirt and blue jeans.

She said that the man said he told her had a flat tire on East Washington Avenue with his wife and thought his friend lived on her block. Then, she said the man asked her for $40, then for her to go with him and then finally left after she told him to get out of her house.

WISC also reports that police have a sketch of the man who was invading homes in the area. Just a thought, it may help finding the guy if they released that sketch to the public.

WMTV also has details thanks to community radio station WORT which is located mere blocks from Zimmerman’s West Dayton Street apartment:

Quote:
About an hour before Brittany's body was found a suspicious man walked into the radio station asking for money to repair his car. They said no and he left.

"I looked out the window to watch him and see if he was going to approach someone else or to see if he really did have a car. And he walked right up Doty Street and disappeared in between the houses in Doty Street," said W.O.R.T.'s Sybil Augustine. "Then we heard about what happened a half an hour after that."
