Details: On Monday January 14th at 11:13 a.m. Madison Police were dispatched to Sherman Middle School after an 11-year-old student discharged a cap gun inside the boy's locker room. As many as 50 students were coming or going to gym class at the time of the incident and many mistook the cap gun fire for real gunfire. This resulted in some initial panic. The cap gun is made of lime green plastic and evidently looks fake in good light. However many students only heard the rapports and did not see the actual gun. Officer's cited the student for disorderly conduct and left him in the custody of the school's principal.
