Governor Jim Doyle to endorse Obama
Earlier today the Obama campaign announced a major Wisconsin endorsement would be coming this afternoon. The Associated Press is now reporting that endorsement to be coming from Governor Jim Doyle. Doyle's son, Gus Doyle, has already endorsed Obama and spoke when the freshman Illinois Senator spoke in Madison in October. Some had speculated the endorsement would be coming from Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold. Feingold has said that he will not make an early endorsement. Senator Herb Kohl has also not endorsed any presidential candidates.
Below is a list of Wisconsin endorsements put together by the UW College Dems with some updates made by me:
Senator Obama:
- Rep. Gwen Moore
- Gus Doyle
- Madison Alderman Eli Judge
- Madison Alderman Zach Brandon
- Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett
Senator Clinton:
- Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton
- Rep. Tammy Baldwin
- Dane County Exec Kathleen Falk
Senator Edwards:
- Joe Wineke, DPW Chair
- Mayor Dave of Madison
- Rep. Dave Obey
- fmr Gov. Tony Earl
