Once again this year, the mayor will lead interactive "build your own budget" workshops. In these workshops, the mayor gives a brief budget presentation to attendees, and then they get a worksheet and other materials to help them craft a city budget. They are able to consider various program cuts, revenue increases, etc. - just as the mayor and Council do.

This year, the workshops will be held at the following times and places:

–Sept. 7, 6:30 pm: Alicia Ashman Branch Library, 733 N. High Point Rd. (west side)
–Sept. 13, 6:30 pm: East District Police Station, 809 S. Thopmson Dr. (east side)
–Sept. 14, 7:00 pm: SMHFC-Harambee (a.k.a. Villager Mall), 2202 S. Park St. (south side)
