Nazi Punks, Nazi Punks...
For me, the story wasn't the so-called "Nazis" appearing on the steps of our state Capitol Saturday, it was the appearance of the pink fuzzy bunnies. I had been calling for an army of fuzzy bunnies to descend on downtown to offset the hate spewing from these throwbacks and when a friend of mine who actually attended the rally said they showed up, I thought I was just being humored. Nope, they were really there as Mark at Pixelated Imagination shows in his National Socialist Movement photo gallery. Mark is kind enough to allow us to post some of the his pictures of Saturday's rally here.
UPDATE: The pink bunnies were apparently part of the Genna's Cocktail Lounge. Also, Jimbo at Military Matters captured tons of video from the rally, see his post here.
Mark sums up the day here:
The mood was severly lightened when a group of pink bunnies came rushing in. The whole event was spectacle. The Nazis were just rabble rousing, of which many rabblers eagerly fell for. There were jugglers, pink bunnies, peace signs and hoots and hollers. The athiests seemed to want to cause some discomfort for the police as they paraded back and forth, causing a swath of officers to follow.
