Russ Lieber for Madison School Board - Seat 2

lieber020206.jpgWith the news today of the 6-0 decision by the Federal Election Commission to allow bloggers and blogs to (for the most part) be exempt from the new campaign finance regulations, Dane101 would like to officially throw our support behind Madison's favorite left-wing talk-radio host Russ Lieber for school board (seat 2).

The endorsement of Russ Lieber has been the subject of intense internal debate amongst the Dane101 contributing staff. We feel that Juan Jose Lopez has done a great job on the school board, but it is now time for the next generation of budget crunchers and strings-program-savers to take over. The other candidate, Lucy Mathiak, is also a strong candidate but lacks essential Co-op experience and may be too practical-minded to fit in with the current school board.

Russ Lieber, on the other hand, has extensive practical experience in resource allocation from his time spent stocking root vegetables at the Mifflin Street Coop. This is an important qualification for any school board member. He also has experience writing, having already published a pamphlet titled "Raise Your Voice by Raising Your Hand: A Non-confrontational Dissenter's Guide to Fighting Back Politely" which will earn him the respect of the powerful teacher's union.

Unfortunately, Russ Lieber is fighting an uphill battle. His write-in campaign is beginning late, and he is worried about motivating the crucial Co-op constituency to go to the polls. The bottom line is, if he wants to win, he needs to use his bully pulpit as a talk-radio host to motivate the Lieber Legions to come out and vote for him. Dane101 proudly endorses Russ Lieber for Madison School Board (seat 2).
