A reason to party - not that you need one

Current | Campus

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has a new distinction - the number one party school. To the chagrin of University leadership across the country, the folks at Princeton Review have put out their annual list of top party schools. UW-Madison has unseated Albany as the champion.

According to the website, Princeton Review surveys more then 110,000 college students across the country and asks them to rank schools based on "the use of alcohol and drugs, hours of study each day, and the popularity of the Greek system."

The survey's have been dubbed unscientific by those that rank near the top of the list in such categories as "Lots of Beer," "Lots of Hard Liquor" and "Reefer Madness." For the record, Madison clocks in at number 3 for the first two and at number seven for the latter.

However, it isn't all bad. Madison does have the distinction of taking the number 20 spot for Best Student Newspaper. Although - it isn't clear which paper the survey refers to.
