Public Enemies hits the Capitol

Arts | Film

Take a trip back to Depression-era gangster times, when the Wisconsin state capitol was ostensibly located in Washington, D.C., a privileged few apparently had plastic water bottles and modern film and lighting gear, and everything was a kind of warm black and white tint.

A total of 14 pics from the filming of Public Enemies shot from the Pickney and East Wash side of the Capitol:

Smart move using the black and white! I like the photos with the vintage cars, but the modern traffic lights.

Thanks!

I generally hesitate to go black & white, but I just couldn't resist here.

Phil, those shots look great. Had they done anything to rope off the square? Were you pretty close for some of those, or do you have a serious zoom lens?

Thanks - nope, no ropes or

Thanks - nope, no ropes or anything, just cops and producers herding traffic, as far as I could tell. I wasn't too close while shooting or anything, but did have a couple good spots - nothing a 70-200 couldn't handle, I guess.
