Last week we reported that little has been heard from Darth Vader's younger brother, Chad Vader, in recent weeks. But no longer, we have learned that there is some big news about to break regarding the Madison-produced internet sensation. First, Blame Society will discontinue selling Chad Vader Season One DVDs and T-Shirts on March 14. If you want to grab the potential collector's items before they are discontinued you can do so at the Blame Society website. Second, according to Blame Society's Aaron Yonda there is a very good reason for them to discontinue the DVDs, "We'll let you know the details as soon as we can. It has something to do with Chad possibly being made into a TV show. That's all I can say..." On a somewhat similar note, Matt Sloan, the voice of Chad Vader, will be heading to Hollywood to do voiceover work for a game show he identifies as "[blank] or no [blank]." As reported on dane101 Sunday, the Dentmobile will be coming to Madison as part of a massive viral marketing campaign for the forthcoming Batman flick, The Dark Knight. The Dentmobile is intended to drum up support for Harvey Dent who is considering a run for District Attorney of Gotham City (according to the Batman comic book's Dent will eventually become the villian "Two-Face"). You can catch the Dentmobile tomorrow from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. around State Street and the Capitol Square, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. in front of City Hall on Martin Luther King Blvd., and from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Kohl Center for the WIAA Girl's Basketball Tourneys. Scheduling that last stop was insanely savvy for the Warner Bros. marketing team. For the second week in a row WKOW has chosen to bump Lost to a later time slot in order to make room for high school basketball tourneys. Tonight's episode is scripted by UW-Madison alums Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. You can catch it at 10 p.m. Wisconsin Film Festival Tickets for the Wisconsin Film Festival went on sale Saturday and dane101 has been providing a ton of coverage featuring interviews with filmmakers. You can read all of our coverage by going here. There are also a handful of sell-outs to report. It is important to note that "Sold Out" does not mean there won't be tickets available day of show. The festival always provides a rush line in case those who have purchased tickets don't show up. If there are multiple showings of the film, I note which day is sold out: Alaska Far Away Public Enemies The buzz and hubbub about the Michael Mann film Public Enemies prepares to froth over as production kicks into high gear. Wisconsin State Journal's Melanie Conklin caught up with two of Johnny Depp's stand-ins who were selected from the Madison Media Institute. Over at Isthmus, Kristian Knutsen has been closely following the film and on Tuesday he caught up with director Michael Mann when he toured one of the Madison locations. The first known Wisconsin shooting is expected to take place in Columbus, Wis. on this coming Monday. According to the Portage Daily Register about 100 to 150 people will be involved in the shooting. Onlookers will be allowed, but will be "expected to behave." The film is also leading to a number of detours in the area, but the town is making the best of it. The PDR reports, "A notable step in the construction process Tuesday was the temporary removal of the downtown traffic lights, as Highways 16/60 and 73 were closed off at least through March 20. Workers from the Columbus wastewater treatment plant took advantage of the closed streets on Tuesday afternoon by performing work on the sewer line in the middle of the usually busy center of the intersection where those highways cross." |
